Is Wattpad a good place to try and get paid on?

I read the story notes, but IDK, it's a little vague, at least for me

For every paid writer, there are hundreds and hundreds of unpaid ones. If you can make money off of a work, that’s great! Just don’t go into it expecting it to happen and you’ll do fine.

Of course you can make money off of it. Look at Japan, look at Webnovel (Don't go there), look at Royal Road, look at here, look at Inkitt, look at Wattpad, look at Tapas. There's lots of places.

No chance. Most scammer/spammer infected site. Also, a really crappy one. You can only post 200 chapters max, lol.
Honestly, Wattpad is one of the worst sites I've ever been on. Abandoned that one and never regretted it once.
Also, what do you mean by "getting paid on"? Wattpad does not pay you, AFAIK

Of course I would think so, it literally says Wattpad paid Stories.

The fuck? Really? Okay, I guess so... if someone has experience with that, I'd be interested in that. If you learn anything, share it with us ;)
I'd still avoid that site... really rubs me the wrong way how many art scammers are on there who never get banned.

I reported those scammers once, and then I got a warning because of "mass reports." instead I should have just blocked/muted the person.

Also, funnily enough, muting someone does not remove their spam posts under your chapters.

Nah, I trust you since you clearly hate the site.
I just want a good site I can get paid on, at least in the future so I can turn to it once I finish my current novel ? I want this to be a hobby and a side hustle.

If you have any suggestions, please tell me (Minus Patreon)

Patreon is the easiest and most reliable way. With Patreon, you can fully focus on writing your stories, and the more people like your story, the more you earn. It's also great because you do not have to pick and choose one particular site and can upload your story anywhere you want.
I'd choose the big three (RR, SH, WN).

Webnovel!!?? (Taboo Mentioned).
You telling me to get a 360 Diddy Deal!?

On a serious note:
I'll post my side novel once it reaches 30 chapters and do as you said, positing it on Scribble hub & RR & Patreon.

Check the contract, they probably exclusively own your work once you've signed up with them.

Wattpad is a cesspool of lowest common denominator smut romance written by AI. I'm probably going to erase my fictions there and move somewhere else. They only want cringe billionare romance fantasy to milk a specific audience and everything else is shadow banned. It seriously was getting bad when I started and they just get worse every year. You read one featured work on Wattpad and you essentially read all the featured works on Wattpad. But if you can write alpha billionare romance reader insert #3,406,607,067 you can probably make a few bucks there.

I used to be on there, but quit recently because it's not even worth the effort of copy and pasting chapters there anymore. Since it's one of the most populated writing sites out there, and they canned the forums, it's almost impossible to gain any traction there unless you already have an audience. So, I wouldn't even recommend posting free stories there. I don't know if things have changed, and I never made money off there anyway, so I could be wrong, but I think your story has to be hand picked by staff to join the paid program. Honestly, I'd try out royal road or inkitt instead.

No, I am telling you to earn your money on Patreon.

You can still upload your story on Webnovel WITHOUT signing a contract and promote your Patreon there. :blob_sir:

Yeah, if i can be honest, I don't think the money will worth too. I enjoy writing just now simply because it's refreshing. I share the story i wrote, simply just for sharing.

I’ve been on Wattpad for 7 months. In that time, I’ve amassed a whole 190 views. My work is different, it’s a complete epic fantasy novel. So I expected lower views. But there is almost no way to boost your visibility unless you write very specific genres. I’m about to give up on it and just focus on here.

To earn one must first write consistently and he should gain popularity through his works.....Then only can he get contracts. If your story is still getting less views then dont except money. Wattpad only pays famous authors not creative ones

I know its sad. My book is also a mytho-cosmic dark fantasy but it is kind of doing well here....356 views in approximately 8 days if you are interested to read it here;-
