Do you put your own stories in your own reading lists?

Do you put your own stories in your own reading lists? I realized I can do that, and give even it five stars.

But I haven't done that cuz I feels weird.

And I also found out if you visit your own story page, the system counts it as a view.

No.

I'm too bad at math to have to constantly subtract one reader (which would be myself in this scenario) from the number of current readers I have.

Also, I don't want to review my story or give it a star rating because I will take my readers doing that as the day that I've finally "made it" as an author. I want to share my writing and have people enjoy it, and the event of a rating will probably be the best indication of that actually happening.

They wound up there somehow, so I created a separate category to shunt them off to.

I gave my hiatus work four stars and my own reader comments a thumbs up.

Because I'm just that

Yes, since sometimes I will re-read my work, easier to re-read here than on my writing documents.
Second reason, it is an easy way for me to check my chapters uploaded successful.

There's nothing wrong with rating your own fiction, as long as there's no rule prohibiting it. You can consider it a form of self-appreciation.

There's also nothing wrong with views based on your own visits... authors can enjoy their fiction, too. Some authors even say they write fiction for themselves.

Correct. One more addition to the list, and one rating isn't going to tip the scales. Enjoy your own works, authors.

I do. Because it makes another way to find it. I don't rate them usually. Though, I did rate one a one star because a rating dropped it down to 4.9, and that number didn't vibe with me.

As a clown who has all of his stories in his reading list, I really don't think 1 reader makes a difference.
Nobody here will hold you to the highest standards.

Yes :blob_evil_two: but does it count? I tested the Favorites marker by adding a like to my chapters and it didn't raise the counter, so I don't think adding my story to my Reading list changes that.

I have it there because why yes, I do read my work hehe :blob_gift:

I neither add my stories to my reading list, nor rate them, nor favorite chapters in them, save for the one exception of the Setting "series" I added by accident while I was trying to figure out what things on the site do shortly after joining.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. It's nice. ?
I've won't put my story in my reading list. I choose to face the truth bravely ?.
Unfortunately... An "economic reader bubble" has been blown for me. ?

When I first joined I accidentally added my own book to my reading list. I couldn’t figure out how to undo it, so I just left it. ? I hadn’t used SH before and hadn’t yet found the forums, so I wasn’t sure how things worked.

Hello everyone.
For those who are bored enough to read my nonsense, allow me to waste your time:

I woke up yesterday and logged in to SH, and was surprised/shocked to see that my own story is in my reading list.
That's odd... I just said I wouldn't, but there it is. I don't drink. I don't do drugs. So I am aware of myself. But I don't recall putting them in.
Oh well. Now that I can't remove it... I decided to go all the way and shamelessly give it a five star rating.

Hahahahaha...ha...ha...ha.
Good day.

I add them there because I will go back and read my own stories sometimes. I don’t rate myself though. But adding them to a list is convenient!

I can finally enjoy reading one of my trad style novels, and it reminds me of an 80s/90s novel of the genre. Iusewd to love it at foirst, then take a break and think it was cringe. Now after editing, I'm starting to think I might be okay-ish.
