Hey ya'll!

I'm looking for some recommendations, as the title implies. The problem with finding new reads on my own is that I have trouble getting through a lot of stuff. I love action and adventures, whether fantasy or sci-fi (I prefer the latter, if I had to choose one), but so many get kinda bloody and I just have trouble reading through that kind of thing. On top of that, my tastes may be a little too simple sometimes. I enjoy a nice story where the villain does villain things, the hero comes to stop them, little is sacrificed to save the day. Childish? Maybe. I know it's not popular, and most stories end up having major character death or super dark backstories, I just... get tired of it, honestly. I need recs that are simple, but fun adventures. Some romance is okay, especially if it's wlw, but not necessary.

Or maybe if you know any kind of "cozy fantasy" along the lines of Travis Baldree's Legends & Lattes, that works, too.

No smut, please. Ecchi is iffy.

I took a look. For the former, I guess I did forget to mention I don't really do fanfic either, especially if it's of an IP I'm not familiar with. Might at least give it a shot anyway. As for the latter, you do have it labeled as having gore, which is already concerning. I apologize if all this makes me seem picky. Though accurate, it's sorta what happens when one has a hard time trying new media without getting queasy at certain scenes.

So far. no gore. there are death scenes but they are more.. childish like chomp, rawr, nothing too graphic?? but that is again by my own standards, yours are probably lighter.

I only put those as a "maybe down the road", or a deterrent, because my first book has those topics, and i'd rather have people that are okay with them follow along with me, rather than have to worry about what they're clicking on, playing shuffle games between my books whenever a new one comes out. just better safe than sorry. you know?

The fanfic is a normal story. I explain which characters are which, you don't need to know who they outside the book to like the story.

I'm more surprised you saw the warnings to be honest. lol but they are incredibly tame/ normal stories by comparison to my first book.
but no worries. If you don't want to look into them, no sweat, don't push yourself to. x3

I see. Yeah, that's fair.

That's pretty much one of the bigger issues I have with fanfic, that they often rely on that knowledge. Good on you for doing that!

With the issues I tend to have, I've learned to pay attention to every tag, warning, etc. that I can. I've got doesthedogdie.com bookmarked. But yeah, I guess I'll check on them. Obviously, the next biggest thing is just having a plot I can enjoy, but that's all on me to figure out. Worst case scenario, I simply don't like it and go read something else.

Thank you!
It was a huge issue with fanfic that I found troubling whenever I chose to read them.
I don't often browse through fandoms, or look into the original media. It's more like.. I find a character I'm interested in, find out their name, and start noticing whenever they pop-up around me (instead of remaining oblivious). So, when I open the fanfics, I get bombarded by names, locations, and terms I'm supposed to already know.. It's just an instant turned off, and I no longer want to continuing reading. I know the troubles of being a reader.. I'm intent on not letting that feeling overwhelm my readers.

If you don't enjoy either of my stories, please by all means. lol. I'm thankful for you checking in on them nonetheless.

for my books, the plots are pretty clear (i think) in the synopsis.

Ise-se-Kai 20.. the character dies in each new world they're reincarnated into, which there will be 20 worlds. I think I'm up to... 3?
It's cute and wholesome from what I'm told/ a bit of language if you don't mind it.

Archivist maid is a wholesome master/ apprentice relationship. The 2nd chapter (maybe 3rd?? I think) has some horror, but spoiler, it's not as serious as it seems. The rest is mostly just drama, and mysterious elements. It should remain light throughout the rest of the series.

but again, don't feel forced to read. lol :blob_melt:
OH but! this would be a good chance for me to ask for your point of view, IF you do end up picking either book up.

What's too much.
What pushes you away.
What you don't like.
or if i'm doing okay keeping things light

-that sort of thing. If you don't mind that is.
