What are your thoughts on Fantasy vs Sci-fi?
Not in the sense of which is better, but rather, a story of where both of these elements are present.
Like I have an idea in the back of my head that I intend to keep pocketed until I finish my novel where in a war, on a Dark Fantasy (Grounded Fantasy) Earth with the typical fantasy creatures any everything, aliens for space crash onto Earth, trying to take it over. But they aren't the typical, high advanced aliens, but aliens being a mix between the Death Angels from A Quite Place and Xenomorphs, that came to Earth by riding meteorites.
Would that be a very interesting story (Won't be written for a long time though)
If you know any novels that follow this premise or at least somewhat have something similar to it, link some for me to read.
Additional Notes:
The kingdoms see technology as there as taboo and a disgrace to the gods, an acceptance of the rejection of the gods who have helped them so far.
The aliens on the other hand are very smart and fast hunters, capable to hearing long distances, covered in an exoskeleton, with scythes for arms, and a hivemind radius, where if one knows something, any other alien around that one will know the same thing.
So, in the story, their biology will be studies.
In the world, the gods have sent Valkyries to Earth, supernatural, near country-leveling weapons with human form that can be used by humans, but these weapons have VERY strict soul contracts and preferences, so they are damn near most of the time unusable
In the world, the 'Demon King' was already defeated and the Demons QUOTE, UNQUOTE, were all imprisoned and enslaved, forced to fight on the front lines
(Demons are actually just genetically modified humans through magic to advance the body. A taboo against the kingdom's teachings of being pure as a human both spiritually and physically and using the god's blessing (magic) to change your body is heresy.)
The story could explore discrimination as well
