Is this acceptable as a cover pic?

So... I put up a story on another site. I wanted to spread out a bit. And its very hard to work as a writer. I put up another story. It was gaining traction really well.

Well, ... I didn't even last a week before someone complained. The story doesn't have any sex in it. Nor problems with rule breaking. They complained the cover pic for the story was nudity or sex related. That other site repeatedly flames writers and has a history of burning them. I should have known they'd do something. It wasn't scribble hub, it was ... you know... the other one. But I was surprised that I barely had a week there before someone caused trouble.

I am showing the unaltered previous pic here, so you can see the headaches and trouble people give writers.

Why even do this? Its too hard being a writer now. The market is already too hard to work in. And this is the kind of backstabbing I have to deal with. You can see there is no actual nudity in the pic. There's no underwear either. But the character in the pic, I made the mistake of making her too beautiful.

I don't know if its even worth it to write anymore. People have made it too hard to even work.

Listen, all of these sites you keep posting are OWNED BY THE DEVS that created the sites, and they, and only they will decide the tolerance of sex and or sexual inneundo on their sites. and even if it seems hypocritical to you, and other people are doing it, it's their site. THEY MAKE THE RULES.

#2 Stop playing innocent. you know damn well that pic is nothing but tits and a sword. Stop pretending it's high art. if they don't want it on their site then either change the cover or don't post there.

This looks desperate. Dishing up lewd NSFW AI slop is a no-go for many people.

It practically screams: "I have no story to tell, but here are some juicy tits."

RR might be a little strict, but this is borderline nude content, so I can understand to some degree. SH is a little more lax, so you might get away with your cover here... if you succeed, however... depends on your ACTUAL story.

However, you will get a lot of people clicking on your story with an image like that. So I guess if you can back it up with a good story that will work.

I don’t think the issue was that you made her “too beautiful" , what really draws attention in the image is that the visual focus ends up being on the character’s chest, which comes across as not only somewhat provocative but also disproportionate to the rest of her body.


Maybe toning down that emphasis, either by adjusting the proportions or by adding more elements to the cover’s composition, could help avoid this kind of interpretation and, as a result, problems with the platform.

Yeah but its a double standard. Other people have pics up there that you can see. They are showing even more skin. But some people get in trouble and some people don't. You can't tell me that as a writer you are going to put an ugly girl pic up. So you guys complaining are hypocrites. It should be a level playing field.

And what's with the haters? Many people have beautiful cover art pics.

And this story is actually quite tame. I don't really have smut or bad scenes in my stories anymore. Because I knew there's people that do this kind of stuff of going after people. Other people have way worse scenes in their stories. So I shouldn't be gone after.

That's fine. Go on somewhere else then. You don't have to like what I write. You are free to leave if you want to. But I operate WITHIN the site's rules. I always have. I don't break any rules. And I expect to be protected because of that. Both on this site and other sites. I look at the rules and go by what they say. The rules in this case were about nudity. Not suggested nudity. And my stories are actually quite tame. I get complaints from readers that there's not enough Adult scenes also.

Perhaps you'll be happier with someone else's writing. I don't even mind. I can't please everyone and know that. I'm sure someone else can give you what you want. So let's go our separate ways without any trouble further.

But I follow the sites rules. If I do that and then complain about it, I have a right to an opinion. just like you have your opinion.

And this proves something I told my readers about a week ago also, that these kinds of sites were moving away from adult stories. If the picture has clothes on it, its not nudity.
