Hello, I'm new to SH.

When trying to find stories to read on here, I couldn't find how to exclude tags [ex. advance searching for Fantasy without the Isekai tag]. Is there a different way this site helps readers and authors filter niches?

I saw the "I'm looking for..." forum, but wasn't sure what the rules were about self promo from authors in those threads.

It's been a while since I've been on a forum, so I want to make sure I get the etiquette right.

Edit: I've figured out how to exclude tags. So, one less concern now lol.

On the main site hit the search button then hit the series finder link.

This will bring you to SH’s advanced search. You can include and exclude genres and tags, search for stories with a certain amount of pages, look for stories with xyz in the title, and quite abit more.

Promoting your works on [I'm looking for...] sub is acceptable as long as someone asks a recommendation and one of your works fits it.

On other subs, self promoting is even more lax. As long as it's not on [Scribble Hub Discussion] and not spamming, people won't call you out.

But putting them in your signature is more efficient, others will see your works in your every post. The only drawback is that signatures don't appear on mobile view.

I had no idea there was a desktop view.

3 years later he finally finds out, did you never once try opening it on your PC?

Thank you for sharing. In advanced search, I didn't initially realize double clicking on a tag would let you exclude the genre. Now that I know, it's easier to filter out the stories I'm not interested in.
