"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
― Sun Tzu, The Art of War

For a long time, I always knew that there would have to be a day that I would have to write well over 10k words in a day and that day was today. It wouldn't be something that I would do normally as I am not a crazy bastard who has written 1.2 million words so far in the year. But through competition with that psychopath, I had managed to beat that goal of 10k words in a day.

It was something that I had dreamed of doing ever since I was once a weak little author on Scribblehub who was barely capable of getting out one chapter 1k words a week. To even the time, I would try and juggle 3 chapters of 1k everyday but after enough trial and determination, I have begun to found my own path. The path of resilience to climb up from the ashes stronger with every failure and beating moment. I knew that in my heart of hearts, that it wasn't something that I would be able to do normally so I would like to thank my formidable rival and writing psychopath "Morgan S." and all the supporters who have came out for me on the writing trail.

Now I am going to go and pile up dozens of chapters and try make 2-3 2k chapters everyday. Maybe a little more.

But thank you but let's continuing writing and read new stories as a community.

I think what impresses me most isn't the number of words, but the fact that you haven't burnt out yet writing that many words. My story (mostly backlogged for some final edits before uploading) only has about 55K words total so far, and I already burned out just writing all that over the last month or so. So you're definitely better off than me. I tip my hat to you, fine author.

You should live stream it like that guy from the wandering inn. I’d love to do 4,000 or 6,000 a day. Teach us o master

There was only one time that I felt somewhat burnt out and that was at the 3800 word mark so like 1/3rd of the way in but I recover quickly physically and mentally.

probably helps that most of my writing was only in 1k blurbs that last for 15-20 minutes
the most I can write out is 6K+ per chapter, and it's enough to drain me for two days. That's one hell of a lock in you got there
6K+ a chapter is good. So don’t worry about that but the best way to train in my experience is by short sessions

Thanks. Wishing the same for others here too, so I’ll try reply and encourage the people here
Now make it your standard :blob_sir:

i wouldn’t be talking much during a live stream because I don’t like my voice.
But as for your plans to write 4-6k a day, how much are you usually writing?
Congratulations, the best I can do is 4k words. I don't know how many hours you spend on that.
the writing time I spent was only recorded at 3 hours or so. But I only wrote in bursts. But for someone with 50 WPM consistently over the same time could do 9k over 3 hours.
But you don’t baby to do it one session, I did it like 12 other some sessions
Most of the things I wtite end up getting scraped. Congrats-nya.
if you are worried about that, have a little more confidence and plan ahead

4K is still good so don’t be worried about that.

It doesnt matter, some stories only give 5k words top. Other can go for a million words. Maybe you are not "burnout" maybe your story should be nearing its end and you are trying to prolong it.
Is ok to write a story that is not a billion chapters and quintilion words.

You may be right, honestly. I do plan to do at least one more small arc, but if I can't find the inspiration to carry it past that, it may just end after that. I'm starting to get back into it, though, writing more chapters again, but I do appreciate the insight.

just keep writing, this story or another one. Good is good. Alicia in wonderland is short. C. Lewis Narnia chronicles has seven books, the longest one has 64k words. the second book only has 38k words. Most of Tortall only have 60k words per book. Discworld? Percy jackson? Harry potter first book is only 77 k words.
See? quality over quantity.
You are doing fine, dont worry about word count, focus on quality.

In one session, I can crank about 2k words with low-medium editing. In two, about 3.5. Like people said before me, quality over quantity.

The longest piece original English literature ever written is "The Loud House Revamped" at 18+ million words. Look it up, and make your own judgements because future societies may use it to judge Mankind. God save us all.

Wow - think that's about twice my record. Good job.
5.5k words is still a lot so be proud of it

long stories suck and I don’t like them so I won’t make them unnecessarily long

Glad that you are feeling motivated
That's nice
thanks

But they dont, I was surprised when I found out. Becouse I rememeber them as so "Full" that it felt weird, but it is what it is, good writers can express a lot with just a few words. Too bad I am not a good writer (yet, give me time).
