So I recently ran into a few stories where the beastmen or beastkin, etc were FURRIES. Like having hairy fur and no human faces even. Their more animal then humanoid, and can barely be called humanoid at all.
An example is here. Although this is a pretty good story, I don't like his view of beastkin, beastmen etc having FUR.

And then recently I'd been seeing that other people had this similar view of FURRIES, rather than the classical catgirl example, where it was just a sexy woman with a tail and cat ears, maybe throw in some claws.
To me furries seems gross. You wouldn't want a wife or girlfriend with FUR instead of skin ALL OVER her body. So I don't understand why people do the characters this way instead of the 'classical catgirl' type of model where the catgirl looks about 95% human.
Why do they do that? And what do you think?
Edited in later; I guess what I want to also say is I'm a bit worried people will all think of furries instead of the classical style like version of how they did catgirls. And a lot of the work I've put into stories use a classical catgirl type of structure. I'm concerned about how this would affect readers looking at a story...
