Standalone or series?

Dear Authors,
I published 44 chapters of my book "THE ABDUCTED", and will continue to publish.
BUT, looks like the story did not catch much traction. I only have a few readers and 650 views. No reviews or anything.
SO, I am currently looking for comments/critics/something to decide whether I will end my book as a standalone, or turn it into a series.
OR maybe I am doing something wrong. Maybe I didn't really ask for help or comments. Maybe not the right time, right place...
HOW would you decide?
Would appreciate thoughts, THANK YOU!

no idea bud... but I wouldn't do a sequel if it didn't get traction. But if you like the word you build maybe do something set in the same one but with different characters or feel?

Why not? Just redo the cover and synopsis. These aren’t working. The cover definitely needs to be changed.

Supposedly the first "sweet spot" to attract interest is at 20 chapters, and then 50. Apparently a lot of readers won't take it seriously until you hit that second point.

Supposedly, yeah. Though my most successful story on here picked up at 10 chapters and fell off around 25 (also the first book ended in the 40s, and I've only gotten five chapters of the second written).
