The urge to start drawing a graphic novel has been growing inside of me. I've been too busy to care for the past few months but now that I'm having a freetime, it's there. It's like a baby fever.

But I don't wanna think about the storyboard. And I have no excitement to draw my own novel. It's like I've read that thing many times (editing) and for me, it's way too dull now...

Good lord.

What kind and how much of a backlash will I receive if I just randomly pick a story on Scribblehub.com?

I mean I’d be incredibly honored if someone did something like this with my story, but incredibly weirded out and sorta offended if they did so without consulting me. Tbh if someone asked the only demand I’d make is that they keep me posted and not charge for it. Or alternatively, if they do charge for it, give me copies so people can also read the graphic version as it comes out on my patreon.

I’m sure a lot of authors would feel similarly. If it’s literally just a labor of love I’d see it in the same light I see fanart, and I’d be unfathomably touched if someone gave enough of a shit about my story to make fanart.

Oh- you can make a visual graphic woth one of the characters in my novel if you'd like. But of course with my permission. I too, writing stories due to my arts, then I stopped drawing but continue with writing.

I agree with you, I would be thrilled if someone is willing to draw, sketching, or evem visualising my characters, it would be meaning they're interested in those characters. Since, drawing especially in digital arts or any style, ot takes effort more than writing,

An illustration? That is nice but I prefer a manga or manhua or whatever... A comics basically... But I don't wanna do the complicated work of turning a novel into a storyboard. Panel by panel planning? I just wanna draw.

Have never done that before. Might have some time to work on it next week..

Edit: working two jobs, TRYING to keep up with writing and helping take care of two guest dogs kept me from giving this a go... Also just realized I tossed out two suggestions but would only have time to work at one anyway...
So when/if I get a chance to come up with a storyboard, would you prefer
The Kaiju System (Honeyfeed story, heavily inspired by the urotroroman (Ultra Man) franchise)
Strange Awakening (superhero/slice of life/pseudo-isekai)?

Personally if you used any of mine I wont even complain but the graphic things won't start until later in the story. (If you ask for a story board i only know how to draw weapons and stickmen or monsters)
