Ever had that brain freeze because you had too much ice? Well... I never had that but what did have is writing block resulting in a hiatus of an unpublished manuscript.

Writing and creating ways for your character to utilize their power realistically turns out to be much more harder than I imagined. For one any type of manipulation/control/boosting power touches up many other areas like thousands of them and I really mean that.

My established Character A has mind control, he is a Gang Leader, so I started thinking ways mind control can be used other than the obivious ones and I came up with a list that is just....wow.

1. Emotion Inducement(loyalty, love, affection, eagerness, reward hormones.)
2. Increased neural activity(tactical, leadership, on the spot decision making, learning speed max,)
3. Memory manipulation, 4. Memory transfer, 5. Trauma Manipulation, 6. Allergy Manipulation, 7. Behavioural inducement, 8. Sleep (sleep, wake, sleepy drowsy etc. manipulation), 9. Dream manipulation.

Most of these are powers are just side-effects of his original power "Mind Control". He can give you trauma, take away your trauma and he can also make you incapable of S*x etc. He is the core elements of the story and I couldn't think of a way to beat him or give the story even a mildly happy ending or some satisfying closer at all.

And that's how I dropped this FanFic which had 12 chapters. Bye bye Marvel: Hero in Red.

I think that can be applied in a broader array.
Already making a scene found on reasonable groundwork, and making it develop in a realistic way, while still achieving the outcome one desired you're writing this scene even for can be extremely difficult.

I remember how I wanted to write a scene where my newly transformed monster girl would involuntarily have to end up eating a group of bandits who barge into her cellar while raiding the house.
The issue I suddenly faced was that I couldn't really construct a way while they would all move into the cellar. It's a shop building, at least six rooms, so why would all of them be at the same place for the character to rage on them? Yet otherwise the situation couldn't be concluded. I had to do like three rewrites of the same chapter. I perfectly knew what I wanted, but not having a concrete way to get there was taking its toll.

This is why we write sequels or an entire series of books. So that we can eventually get to the ending we want. *^^*
