So Voodoo is a very big part of African and well Nigerian culture.
From tales of witches who are D1 haters to herbalists who claim to be able to cure everything to ritualists whose whole magic system is like alchemy.
So nowadays most people tale it as superstition and those who don't are usually super religious so they believe that Jesus is greater than any other minor power. So that made the events that occured a couple hours ago really interesting to me.
So i was at work minding my business, reading a MTL Chinese novel and then the guy who works at the laundry came in to the reception and asked for a phone to make a call.
I didn't have airtime on mine so I told him that, he headed off to meet the guy at yhe bar and he said the same, then he met my colleague who gave him his phone to use.
Well I'm just hearing this part but apparently my manager asked him where he was going when he headed out of the premises and he brushed her off coldly and told her "To make way for him, since he was headed off to sleep" (This is a translation from pidgin English).
A couple minutes later we were confused because my colleague was calling his phone and no one was picking it up. Then a few moments later the phone had been switched off, it was at that point we knew something was wrong. An hour later the laundry guy returned and that was when we understood what happened, he had been jazzed (Jazz is the term for 'charmed'). The guy who was working at the laundry was accosted by two men in town who took his phone and asked him to bring another. Thankfully I didn't give him my phone but the story sounded so nonsensical the only assumption to be made at this point was that the laundry guy had stolen the phone.
Well i voiced that opinion and i was nearly beaten up by the guy( he was really pissed that i insinuated that).
So now I'm curious, if and well if because I don't want to be in that position how exactly does it work? Is it a spiritual attack of some sort, or something like an illusion or hypnosis technique,.if i was confronted with it would i be able to resist. Apparently the guy who works at the bar was even lissting the conditions under which that particular 'jazz' works so there are work arounds i guess.
What is the cost, from what i know most occult rituals are very demanding on sacrifices.
So many questions and so little answers.
