I am grateful, but who the heck is giving out these 5-stars ratings???

That makes me curious now. I've got only one rating on here, and it's a five star. I'm not sure who left it. But I do appreciate it. Though I wonder, if it happens for every story, I wonder if it's a bot or something. Or maybe someone's really bored or nice and trying to put in some charity. lol

Reader: I feel itchy if I don't like a chapter of the story I like, i guess it's but addictive to watch that black heart turn to red.
And if you are going to go around my account to do some reaserch you will find I did that for only one shitty(now) novel, since this is a my first SH account.

A random statistic: 31.9% of series on SH have no ratings. (11,016/34,566)
Would you rather have your story be one of those?

I wonder if maybe the software gives the first approved story of each writer a five star rating as encouragement? I believe four of the six ratings Strange Awakening got came from readers, one from me not believing you could rate your own stories and testing it, and one just appeared when it was first approved.

No; else every story would have it.
There are some people who 5-star everything just because, just like there are people who 1-star it just because.
On one hand, it is nice to get a 5-star rating as encouragement, but on the other, it makes the rating system unreliable.

And the fact that authors can rate their own story is another... weird quirk.

The FIRST approved story, not every story. I don't think mine had been up long enough for anyone not born of Kryptonians to be able to read when it got its first five star... But the others all got theirs after a day or two (if they ever did

It is as if an obligation to have at the very least one 5-star rating for every new novels now and then, whether the content themselves are good or not.

I don't really know ScribbleHub and I don't surf around the site much, so seeing these just makes me a bit paranoid.

Like, sure, it might be that one guy who follows new authors and ask how they are doing and how's it going, but I dunno, just sticking this out there for people to (hopefully) give me an answer to this enigma I saw almost everywhere for the new novels I am piqued at.
That's neither strange nor illegal, is it? Even presidential candidates have one vote to cast for themselves.
