Super powers.

Writing a story that super powers are a vital thing in and I have one question (or multiple). If you could have one super power what would it be? How would it work? What would you use it for?

Two super powers I always adored was clairvoyance and telekinesis. Being able to hard kick my 6 senses into overdrive just always seemed cool to me. And being able to move stuff with your mind has always been a fun ability as well.


I once read this WEBTOON (which has unfortunately ended) about the main character naga? I think his name was. He had telekinesis and was able to use it in multiple ways, making him one of the strongest people in his organization (spoon?). Him being the strongest was always being made a point as he was always had a vital role in taking down villains. (I’m yapping rn don’t mine this part).

I always love Mystique's mutant ability, imagine all the possibilities.

Then I would walk up to all superpower idiots and kick them in the groin and walk away while they can do nothing to me.

In terms of conveniency, I'd likely take telekinesis. Would be the most convenient in daily life and one wouldn't have to out oneself using them. The whole psion spectrum if that counts as a single power.

Yet in terms of powers without bounds, I'd like to become a water elemental. A body that always reshapes itself, can't be hurt, can't be bound, and can control the whole element at any capacity. Though, I'd still like to be able to create a body that can count as normal.
As an alternative on the same level, I'd take eldritch flesh growth to form whatever I desire. Yet this could get messy. My MC Iori can attest to this.

Reality = What makes them FEEL.

Women start from Emotion first, ignore Logic for later.

Men have started with Logic first, and now it's time to learn Emotional communication.

Granted. You gain the power to speak to any girl. You can go anywhere in the world and speak to any girl, no matter what language they speak. Indeed, even if they don’t speak any language. You can talk to female dogs. You can talk to female nature spirits. You can talk to ships because they are traditionally conceptualized as female.

All of this is, of course, only in theory as you are still incredibly awkward. Indeed, it is a net negative because now female dogs, boats, and trees trigger your social anxiety.

You focused on gaining the capacity, but you never cultivated the skill.

If you're just looking for dirt then just go for super hacker or something. Steal crypto from douchebags and leak dirt on them anonymously. You're getting gunned down by thermal and motion detecting turrets if you choose invisibility only.

Teleportation would be a good one, with environmental adaptability to teleport anywhere, like in space or other planet.

No, for me, it's not what would you do with your powers, but what makes for interesting stories are the limitations of those powers. Hearkening back to the telekinetics, what would be the limitation, there?

For me, the more interesting power would be something of an analogue to this, with the Avatar: The Last Airbender stuff being a great example, but nerf the firebenders a little. Why can they spontaneously generate fire like that, while everyone else is stuck with manipulating the elements around them? To that end, I would choose pyrokenesis as my power, mostly because I think it would be neat to weld a couple pieces of steel using just a pocket Bic lighter.

I feel like with how op this ability is, it would have to have a downside like that dude from mha who loses some of his sense when he phases through stuff. Or another downside would be like a cool off between uses, just so it’s evened out. Would that be the only use of this ability tho? With the mutants they usually have 1 ability that’s their gag and multiple sub-abilities.

Like Deadpool did that one time when he had the infinity stones. A cool downside to this ability would be a horrible consequence to the user. Or like a disaster somewhere in the world occurs due to its use.

I feel like a cool telekinetic weakness would be like elevens in stranger things. The longer you use the ability the more your body breaks down/bleeds. That would put the ability on a time limit and the user would be forced to only use it when they see fit.

That does sound very convincing as an ability but what would be the limit? Why would earths gravity and so on affect me? I would be intangible based on my own control. Stuff like that shouldn’t be able to affect me unless I desire it to.
