Some of them are so poorly written I couldn't get through them. Typos, misused words, sentences that hardly make any sense at all.

Now I feel like I'm being cheated. Wtf...
Can you provide some examples? I need a laugh right now.

And they call me crazy when I mention that fanfics should not be allowed to trend on a site whose motto is "home of original stories."
To be fair, the "story" is original, but the characters, themes, etc. are not

Being crazy is a matter of being different, furthermore beig crazy doesn't invalidate arguments.

As another crazy person I absolutely agree that fanfics shouldn't be able to trend for the same reason as you.

That really isn't a bad idea, having a "trending fan-ficition" but how would that be enabled exactly? That would mean adding in essence a completely new "section" of Scribble Hub, a new entry section, new submission section, etc. and I just don't think Scribble Hub would want to undertake something that would cost quite a bit to re-program. It's not right to limit anyone's freedom here either; if they love writing fan-fiction they should have all the same rewards/privileges anyone else has. it's a puzzle. *^^*

Let's make a petition. Shadowban fanfics. After all, some jurisdiction makes fanfics illegal, it's only allowed because the authors are broke and nobody wants to sue a broke person.

You know, I've wondered sometimes how much creators of TV shows, movies, comics, cartoons, etc. actually appreciate all this work done mostly behind their backs. I know the score. If someone did fan-fiction of our comics, I'd certainly want to know about it.

it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world if fan-fiction authors get consent from the original creators (if alive and kicking). Who knows? They might be overjoyed that you'd reach out and ask them, and you get "star power" in your corner. Think about that. Suddenly, you've got them reading your work and impressing them - maybe enough to produce your ideas! Think of the doors opening before you.

Translation issue?

I am convinced that 9 out of 10 suspicious sentence composition is caused by feeding the text written in some East Asia language through the automatic translation script.

Typos, on the other hand, are probably genuine. In most cases, it's autocorrect, or rather auto-corrupt.
