I really like plant people, like Pikmin, or Deku Scrubs from Zelda, Ents/Treants from LOTR/DND. The wise old tree that sits in the forest for an eternity really gets me for some reason, and I like when they have tiny minions that are kinda goofy or dumb that act like forest guardians (Deku Scrubs/Pikmin sort of) They try their best but they're not that good at their jobs.

I also prefer low-fantasy settings where it's mostly humans and maybe some magical beasts, because I think having too many "fantasy races" risks either flattening each race into quirks/stereotypes or turning them into basically a human with slightly different cosmetic.

I like developing characters whose interiority--worldviews, behaviour, quirks, etc.--naturally arise from their culture, upbringing, biology, etc. And unless the worldbuilding actually supports that, I find it difficult to actually care about any fantasy races.

In general I don't like fantasy race. They make me feel as if human supremacy is challenged. But what I like among them is sentient dragons.
Arrogant snotty elves being beaten by humans is peak tho.

This is probably such a cliche, but my fave are elves and their denominations.

The delusional lizards commonly known as drag-on.

No, wait, the question was about most favorite, not least favorite, sorry. Owl people have a special place ever since Arknights. Fairy and fae people as well, and those who aren't able to lie by default.

Genies.

I like the duality of mystical creatures having to assume a human disguise to function in our modern world.

horned humanoid folk that's anything but demons. Draphs, Satyrs, Druids, etc.

No hate for demon-lovers here, but it's been overused, especially in a bad light.
