Do readers generally read warnings for both the story or for chapter heading warnings? From the perspective of being the writer it looks to me like some people either skip the warnings or become fascinated by them instead of avoiding them?

I was curious to study the psychology of this and see what you all think?

I'm also curious if putting up more warnings helps authors avoid bad reviews?

Or any other thoughts you might have about them?

Example; this chapter contains fantasy violence/gore fest. If this triggers you please skip. Or something along such lines.

If you think a warning is important, include it. It helps stop some people, but it will never stop everyone. No amount of warnings will help you avoid bad reviews.

I put my at the start of certain chapters but only the ones that need it. Outside of that, proper maturity warnings.

It's good to have, even if someone avoids reading them, another person might pay attention and save himself/herself from content that he/she didn't want to see.

I think content warnings are important, even if some people skip over them, others who might need them will be able read them.

I just want to know what readers like and are like better so I can give them good stories. To make a good story you have to have good research. Its also really satisfying when readers send you a note about a story and what they liked, and you feel like, Oh all that hard work paid off. :)

Reading warnings? People barely read the stories they open much less warnings.
