What is catbox?
One day, there was a cat that loved his box so much that he made sweet love to it. Four months later, the brood was born. As abominations, only one survived. Half-cat, half-box, Baxt only knew a life of suffering. On his first birthday, he was mistaken for a box and used to ship a book for an E-bay purchase, but the suspicious meows delayed the package and caused the customer to send a bad review. On his second birthday, another cat tried to sit in him. On his third birthday, his human filled him with litter. This proved to be too much for the catbox, and he promptly died.

RIP: Catbox.

Yes. This is better

An image hosting website. People were propping it up not long after the previous time archive-org went down, since catbox seemed like a good alternative. Luckily this time, I only had 12 files linked to it, so it was easy to switch the links back to archive org.

Basically, if archive goes down again, so then does every graphical object in my scribblehub story, at least until it comes back online.
I'm too broke to run my own image server :ROFLMAO:

Like Shrodinger or something idk
It's a dead cat now.

If it ever goes down again, it will be because of people like you who generate unnecessary upkeep costs by using their services as a file hosting place.
Please switch to services like Imgur, Dropbox, or Booru ASAP.

Imgur deletes images randomly. Image Post randomly does maintenance going offline for hours sometimes. Dropbox has deleted several of my assets without any explanation or resolution for why. And even though we have about 4000+ images on archive org, they are very small put together, no more than 100MB tops if you add it all up. I'm not hurting their servers, promise.
Don't assume things you don't already know enough about.

Yes, when one person tosses trash on the streets it also doesn't do much. But when quarter of a city does so, we have a big problem now.
Exact same thing is happening here, but archive.org can't just increase taxes to pay for more garbage collectors (server space and bandwidth). They are free to use and rely on donations to exist.

I assure you I know more than enough about this topic.

I bought them a coffee and don't have a high income. What solution do you offer in return?
Authors are going to use whatever they feel like in the moment to save them time and money.
Archive is the best solution for me in particular, and it's too late to change it now. Not going to keep arguing about it with ya.
