So… does your protagonist want to be the best?

My protagonist wants to be the very best and to catch them all!

No, not really.
She just wants to live a life that was denied to her before.

Hmmm... none of my protagonists want to be the best/king/catch them all. Most of them are just confused as to what is happening.

If I write Protagonists that want to be the best, that means I will have to write at least 700+ chapters for the entire story.

These days there are rise of stories write their protagonist to "accidentally" became "the best" already.

Either the protagonist who have achieve the goal then self insert, or they truly accidentally are the best without that much "effort". Both were just blatant wish-fullfillment fantasy.

This is not just exclusive to slop stories anymore, this also affect the top of public media.

It's pkay if these kind of thing only exist in the dark shadow corners. Its not okay if it spread too much. Moral decay is a real thing.

Honestly? No... She will leave that to her brother and childhood friend. She just wants to hang out and have a good time in her second life.

He wants to be the best King he can. He also wants to grow up safely, under his mother's watch

Depends on which one.
  • Jack Diamond just wants to make a living. Best, worst, doesn't matter - if he can get by, and keep Carol, he's happy.
  • Kelly Pierce... kind of wants to be the best in their field (advertising) and wants to be good (most of the time) but maybe not THE best. Just good.
  • David West never really thought about it but he likes to win, likes to be recognized, and believes he may have a grand destiny. Not DRIVEN to be the best but he won't shy away from it if the opportunity arises. Now his kids may be another thing altogether but that's for the future...
  • Dane Coleman doesn't really care - he wants to do his best, but that does not mean he has to be the best.
  • Nathan just wants to figure out exactly what he is and why he reacts so strangely to that reporter...
