Did not read the work. Apologies if I misjudged Ragnarok.

Still, the first work made me quit, even if the sequel's art is fantastic, I probably will not indulge it.

Kudos to rectifying the issue of only Sung leveling up.
But Val wants to see you rage, it is what makes these forums fun. :meowsip:

That aside, was it that it was random? Versus something that was laid dormant, but requires actual effort to draw out?

Since, it sounds like the story just pretty much hands it by chance if I am thinking about it correctly? :blob_hmm:

If that’s the case, I’d have likely dropped out long ago.

Because the authors, both OG and Ragnarok, is being vague about how the awakening is being done, I have not much comment on it.

Thus far, from most of the works I read, awakening is done via below processes:
1. Rigorous training.
2. Life death situation
3. Performing a ritual
4. Getting another awakened to awaken
5. Eating/ using object
6. And the most BS of them all; somehow it just works

Ah, yeah. I can see why it frustrates you.

There is the process, but it isn’t really explaining how the process works that affects the awakening sequence.

Which for a story like that, it would be importsnt.

Eh, the title of the novel is literally called 'Solo Leveling'. In Korean (the og), it's 'Only I Level Up'. If you looked at said title, then at the edgy art, and decided, oh! This novel should be about everyone being able to level up!

...Then you are the idiot(?) :blob_whistle:

Besides, irl we're all born into a lottery too. Sucks.
The beauty of language. "Solo Leveling" could mean only one person can level up, but it can also mean someone leveling up by himself, without a party or companions - which I think would be the more natural conclusion from this choice of words, without other knowledge about the novel. The Korean title, on the other hand, is clear about this.

So follow up with MHA and Solo Leveling's Awakening style, it is similar to the standard coming-of-age awakening ceremony in some novels.

As in, what you get might be random as hell like lottery. You might get trash, you might get gold, you might get something that will kill you on the spot or get nothing at all.

Of course, I will not argue about the main pro of it; even the lowest of low and poorest of poor could have their lives turn to good once allocated with a good class/ job/ superpower. The chance is low but still there.

This is just my rant on the randomness and the occasional lack of explanation of awakening procedure.
I think except for some of those professional's novel the new rising ones always have some or the other flaws and early indulging community (readers) helps the author improve himself towards make more good and better chapters. To then readers are the ones who guide them and help them rise to professionalism

its my point of view.... what do you think am i right??

Yeah bro that really sucks, I wasn't ready for that reality check though! ?

I understand your issue with solo leveling's system by why did you mention MHA's system with it? Yeah, in mha your power is locked in, but you're still able to strengthen that power through hard work, unlike solo leveling.
I threw in MHA because of the initial power locked in. Even if one can strengthen said power through hard work, the mood is still kind of tiresome.

Yes, it is mostly a genetic lottery where your parents will decide if your quirk is yay or nay.

If your quirk is low ranked like say Sticky Ball, you can boost it all you want, the level cap of its prowess is still there.

If your quirk is high ranked however like Dabi's blue flames, that shit will go up up and away, provided it does not kill the user first.

As you said, I realized it's confusing in English. Lmao. In Korean it's really clear.

'Solo' is '홀로', but 'Only I Alone' is '나 혼자만'. The Korean title uses the latter. I wonder why translators chose the former.

Good luck asking from me.

I have poor memory and have tendency to delete bookmarks once done.

To hell, I am trying to locate a work I read before but cannot find it just because I cannot even recall the name.

Yeah, I read that during Stray Cat Strut.

Suddenly MC gained a point system that allows her to buy weapons and healthpacks just by completing quests.

Might be something odd, but I find such a surprise to be both welcoming (when in danger) and foreboding (no gift is free).
I tried stray cat strut and gave up, this book was not vibing with me i have dropped it 4 times.
