I thought it would be fun to create a fresh thread where people post their favorite replacements of casual/normal/overly used words. for example: he laughed can be written as he chuckled, chortled etc. OR things like accent problems,, would you rather use Centre or Center.
or doubts like: can we use 'i' or compulsory to use 'I'.
any odd thing that makes sense or any replacement word, give it here, I like it, I keep it in the edits below.
Lets go!
NOTE: The Words or edits are from commenters and myself, I do not take credit for any of this, I am just trying to make a huge library for certain things that would help new authors (Myself included) up their story writing skill even by a percent.
You can search up words and their meanings, but tits a hassle for most to find words that actually make a story's literature interesting, i hope these words, meanings and other stuff help my fellow writers.
EDITS for words:
For laughs:- boisterous guffaw, Chortled, Cackled,
For Talkative:- loquacious,
For pleasant/sweet/flowing sound:- mellifluous
For bringing strong visceral, emotional image:- evocative
for a possibility of something happening that is fearful:- trepidation
for talkative environment: cacophonous
For humming sounds: droning
for nervous and shy looking: mousy
for full of/filled:- Brimming
*********************************************************************************************************************************************************
EDITS for visceral scenes:
sweeps arms across the crowd in a grand, inclusive/exclusive gesture: Welcoming or denying gesture depending on word switch.
the air was thick with tension/warmth
*********************************************************************************************************************************************************

dry humour tone: wry tone
*********************************************************************************************************************************************************
EDITS for Words with meaning:
comfort or consolation in a time of distress: Solace
smirked: (started to reserve it for anyone but the MCs), I've been replacing it with scoffed in amusement or twisted smile
shiver/chill running down the spine (self-explanatory), I just use goosebumps
subterfuge: deceit used in order to achieve one's goal
insurmountable: too great to be overcome
surmountable: something (problem, riddle, situation) that isn't impossible to overcome
nigh: almost, close to
plethora: excessive amount of something
trivia: pieces of information of little importance or value
Disparage: regarded/ing something/someone of little worth
haymaker: a forceful blow
or doubts like: can we use 'i' or compulsory to use 'I'.
