I don't know. aurifex likes to accuse people of not reading well but he couldn't read that I was sarcastic as hell.
Just because he makes a little bit of money as an author doesn't mean he is entitled to being right about everything. Especially if he's using an alt account to be a prick.

The sad thing is I agreed with most of his points from his thread post about being successful on SH.

It sucks that he's a bit prickly.

I wrote that I did not read your story and could not judge its quality.
Since my review thread has a backlog of about ten stories, I would never take the time to read and rate a story unbidden.
If I review something, I take the time the author does (or does not) deserve for their hard work... or leave 5 stars.

Hence, no apology is required on my account.

In fact, as your ad was reminiscent of copywriting, I was amused and had a good chuckle. I once earned some extra income by writing ads of much the same quality praising virility supplements.

As students, we don’t have the funds for custom art, but that’s no excuse.

A little creativity is a good supplement for a lack of funds. Unless you are writing adult fiction, an amusing stickman MS-Paint-esque cover may attract more interest than generic AI art.

We’re committed to improving and making sure this doesn’t happen again.

And, in my not so humble personal opinion, I get that you want to sound professional, but your statement of apology reads as genuine as the last letter from my gas company.
You are students! If even an old fart like myself can make an effort to sound "fresh" and down-to-earth, so can you!

i feel obligated to defend an author caught in the crossfire. why would I make an account to speak my mind on, an account I know would be under scrutiny, then follow my main account? utter nonsense like everything else you've been saying

please take note, though, how I followed that author when he had 3 chapters out, and now his story has the 2nd most views per week on this entire website. a major success story. consistently getting >10k views per day.

this is because, unlike you, i can recognize good writing quickly—and I certainly don't fall for obvious chatbot drivel
