I like the theme of a weak, overlooked, or average person gradually (Not all at once or getting OP fast) getting stronger and becoming a hero.

That covers a lot of... well, basically all progression fantasy that doesn't outright feature an OP protagonist.

Anything else? Because if that is, then I could recommend my novel and it'd fit the bill, but I don't think I'd consider it the same as those other two stories.

It is a Xianxia progression fantasy/cultivation story. Action, adventure, political inteigue, military strategy, etc.

It is unique and pretty interesting in my opinion, especially once you get into it a bit, so like chapter 8+.

Don't let the title fool you. It is an epic tale with historical and cultural accuracy akin to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

I am currently reading Lout of Count’s family (amazon kindle) that is about an isekaied guy who is sent in the body of the first chapter’s villain of a novel, who is immediately defeated by the hero. The man is useless and a drunk but very good looking and rich. ? With the knowledge he has of the novel and sheer manipulation coupled with his money, the MC manages to empower himself gradually and gain the respect of all, starting with his father’s who now sees him as worthy of leading the family. On the way, the MC makes very powerful allies including the hero of the novel who becomes early on his subordinate and does whatever he wishes. The novel is very pleasant and a lot of fun. ?

My House of Horror: if you can handle immersive horror progression stories than you will be fine. ( I never managed to read after 500 chapter.)

I am Not the Demon God's Lacky: Doesn't fit your weak to strong mc part but mc is not the focus of the story other characters are, although it's ending always disturbed me.

Skeleton Prince is in Bad Mood or something can't really remember its name well but is a story about a skeleton's adventure through dangers places in hopes of saving his master, it was slice of life i think too much focus on struggle self improvement and stuff.

Clown Prince of Gotham: Yes it's a FanFic, could be published in different titles like I am the joker, Harley is trying to kill me or Batman is just too persistent.
I know what you are thinking but it's perfect for the genre weak to strong and well weak against strong. The guy basically has the world after him and somehow has to survive and gets stronger (painfully) after each encounter.

Rock falls everyone dies: on royalroad, complete, about a journey of a rock that gains minor sentience and has to go down the mountain. It's litrpg but fits.

Throne of Magic Arcana by Cuttlefish: pretty good if yer interested in scientific magic. Weak to strong, good worldbuilding, cool visuals (in text obviously ?)

The Protagonists Are Murdered by Me: Cold and Ruthless protagonist. Fast paced(very), shares some themes to Solo Levelling especially it's end game worldbuilding.

The Villain Wants To Live: Cool start not very powerful centric really it's more about the state and the legend of the world progression than power progression. But "mc" does start of as weak and gets strong.

I'm Spider, So What? : It's has a webnovel and light novel version both try to read webnovel one it has much more better world building but the light novel is more organised.

Perhaps, my novel Lucky God System. It's progression, doesn't really follow the normal tropes of it's genre, it has a comical undertone, but does have darker themes. Has character development for the protagonist and has side characters and villains that exist for other reasons other than the protagonist. Has no smut. The biggest issue is that it lacks chapters. Only a little over 60,000 words so far. I try to update every 2 days.

There is a manhua "The sword god froma ruined world"... is the same, a copy basically of solo leveling, but with some changes, a reverse Isekai with power unificial power level.
You might like it, I found it too unorginal and boring.
