I saw a video where someone was asking if you are transported to a DnD fantasy world as a normal human and your advantage is that you will be the master of only one type of weapon which weapon will it be?.There will be wizards and dragons and all other things you expect from a fantasy world and your only advantage is having that absolute mastery of your weapon of choice which will only grant you superhuman capabilities only nothing godly like erasing realms, let me use power scaling where your abilities are only on tier 7 mountain level.

Hm... it depends on your definition of mastery...A spear? Sword is close range and has limited use. Bows are long range but expensive and use up ammunition. Other weapons are either weaker, less versatile, or more expensive.

A spear is cheap and can be handcrafted, so I can acquire one easily. I would quickly have the ability to defend myself in this new world. It also gives me decent distance between me and the opponent, and I can throw it and run if things get bad. Lastly, I can use it to hunt, which is nice.

Hammer! Because every problem looks like a nail when all you've got is a hammer, say Abraham Lincoln.

Well that's a good choice considering their reach is among the best.

does this mastery gave me unique skills and something else? I'm not exactly well-versed within DnD stuff, so I'd like to know.

Yeah, your mastery gives skills or unique techniques and when used you can carve or destroy a mountain but you are still a normal human with your weapon even a stab can kill you if you ain't careful.

Yeah no that would suck. In D&D, martial classes are famously underpowered, and that's with class features. If all you get is proficiency, or, if we're being generous, expertise, you better hope you never see combat.

I think the intention was just nondescript high fantasy. But yeah... martial classes do not get

strong. (They can attack a few extra times in six second periods though...)

Lol the original video i saw the poster said he wanted people to be cautious all the time something about people not being overconfident because of having a unique power system or something.

On a serious note if i'm giving a chance i wouldn't want to be in a dnd fantasy.

See this is cheating. War Stick, because if it's my definition of a War Stick, that's everything from a Stick to Polearm.

Yeah. That's the reason why I chose a spear. It's simple, useful in everyday, and a last defense option if things get bad. Really bad.

A class is where all the power is in dnd. With just weapon proficiency or expertise, you'll die in combat. You'll have to try your best to avoid it unless you are completely out of choices.

I remember eating cold bread on the fridge which basically turned solid to the point I could basically use it as a weapon and imagine scenarios where I would beat people up with a bread. Not only using it as a melee weapon but also a throwable item in hand.

very deadly choice (for the wielder ) if the opponent has even a small shield
Eh, it may be less effective. But if I have extreme mastery in said weapon, I think I'll still be able to fight. Besides, I wouldn't be fighting humans. I would be fighting monsters. And I wouldn't be fighting to win, but to hit and run.

It's either a spear, or a shield, but I chose spear for the versatility. Hm... hammer/axe ain't bad either. I bet it'll look very intimidating.

They said dnd weapons, so I imagine things like Bread or Sticks wouldn't count. They're not classified as weapons. But good idea.
