Do I get to send the money to my family? If yes, I will happily get there and sudoku immediately.Everyone who pushes the button gets sent there.
Naturally.Everyone who pushes the button gets sent there.
You are worth more than $100k.Do I get to send the money to my family? If yes, I will happily get there and sudoku immediately.
Hmm, assuming already, so you can sleep at night, I seePerhaps they are willing to endure such pain because everyone they cared about already fell at the hands of such people. Or fighting against their lackeys. Even a coward can press a button.
For me, it's all in that singel clause. And what the button presser person is able to rationalize as "bad".Semantics
You assume I can. If I were able to press that button, I would sleep much better.Hmm, assuming already, so you can sleep at night, I see![]()
Than again it might be better for the world, if we make the fuction public and televise the pressing of the button daily. (Or pretend to press the button daily). For me, it's all in that singel clause. And what the button presser person is able to rationalize as "bad".
Button Presser would probably need to read some books on philosophy, social sciences, and psychology before pressing tho.
The magical girl of various thought experiments approaches you and gives you a remote with a button.
She explains that if you push this button, you would get $100,000 USD.
Simultaneously, it would condemn a potentially "bad person" to lifetime imprisonment in solitary confinement.
No I wouldn't, rather I would call the police because this is clearly a scam. I can sue them and win the money.Would you push the button? Why or why not?
Then what is Evil? even our dark sides are human, a pedo is a human, a serial killer is a human; we were born with better desires to some degree but that doesn't make us any more human than themI do believe that bad people are evil. People who merely make bad decisions or commit bad deeds are not necessarily bad people. They are normal human beings. Unless you are evil, I will not consider you a bad person. You can drink yourself to death, gamble away your mates' money, kill your spouse in a fit of rage, or even run me over with a truck, and I would not consider you a bad person. You would merely be human.
Of course, killing evil people does not make one a good person.
Our values are too different. We will never agree. Then what is Evil? even our dark sides are human, a pedo is a human, a serial killer is a human; we were born with better desires to some degree but that doesn't make us any more human than them
evil is commiting bad deeds, the reason doesn't matter, unless it's for revenge or done while out of control,
the rest is you are what you choose
I've seen evil, and I would gladly die. Life is so shit that dying with purpose is the ultimate reward a person could ask for but I know evil is human, not something abstract, killing a spouse is evil, not just a human did wrong; rage is no excuseYou cannot tell me that you have never seen evil. Would you not gladly die if it meant locking up one of those people?
Our values are too different. We will never agree.
You are right that the reason does not matter. A bad deed is a bad deed. What matters is if the person will do it again. We can use their reasoning as a somewhat reliable indicator to predict their future behavior. Some people enjoy it too much.
Of course, the point is moot. Such a convenient method will never exist.

Spam press that bitch like theres no tomorowThe magical girl of various thought experiments approaches you and gives you a remote with a button.
She explains that if you push this button, you would get $100,000 USD.
Simultaneously, it would condemn a potentially "bad person" to lifetime imprisonment in solitary confinement.
When you ask her what she means by a "potentially", she explains that there's a 70% likelihood that the person committed a "bad" crime and a 30% likelihood they've committed no crime whatsoever. The magical girl explains that the moral rules used to determine "bad-ness" reflects your own personal moral system. The identity of this "bad person" would be perfectly random, and you will never know exactly who you sent to jail. She promises that on average, you would be sending a "very bad" person to jail, but she does acknowledge that there is a 30% chance that innocent people could also be affected.
She clarifies that there are absolutely no downsides for you regardless of whether you push the button or not.
Would you push the button? Why or why not?
The button is to ensure God has less accounting to do. Perhaps those evil deeds they miss out on in solitary confinement will shave off a few years of hell. And the innocent will surely be rewarded for their suffering in heaven, is that not how it goes?God will hold everyone accountable, so there is no need for the button.
