Probably no. And most people don't even know you can set it to auto-bookmark chapters. And you can even set how much time you need to spend on a chapter to do it automatically.

It is also a way to let authors know that you are still reading it.

You can change the setting in your reading lists.
Auto Bookmark is turned off by default.
