I don't feel the need to rebut. The science already does. You can either live in delusion or accept reality.

There is a transgender tag on SH though?
There is, but in his defense, not all of the stories that should have the tag do so.

EDIT: I have enjoyed 2 stories that didn't have the tag at first (even though they should have) in the short time I've been here.

I think the thread is born because the OP finds gender bender genre is no longer a straight only space, and he wonders if it's ruining the genre.
This is an extremely disingenuous take. The original poster wasn't complaining about the existence of trans people or trans authors, only that all of the new GB stories with the tag are smutty/mature in nature. It was others that pointed out that the reason that most new GB stories feel the same is because the genre is being used as trans wish fulfillment by mediocre authors.

It's making the GB genre as bad as LitRPG/VR/Isekai and Cultivation/Xinxia/Wuxia stories.

Statistics will show that transgenders have an absurdly high s**cide rate compared to any other demographic, and trans-affirming care has not lowered it at all. He's not delusional for pointing out something you deny. We have no idea how to help them, but affirming their dysphoria has not worked.

A lot of stories don't use proper tags. It is what it is. ?‍♂️

Am I the only one who interpreted OP as basically asking, "Is GB hated because of woke people(vocal crazy minority) or not?"

One of those "others that pointed out" was me.

Meh, i think it's fine. More variety is good.

GB stories where they explore gender identity are like, cool. I'm sure there are many who like them having it a little deeper—simple is fine too, but I don't see why straight people would avoid GB genre just because of that, other than, you know, them not finding what they're looking for.

Literature is always littered with them. The gender identity part is always linked to it. But of course, I won't pretend to be oblivious, Japanese (or other, just less prevalent) gender bender stories are usually devoid of that, and straight people prefer that. But I don't see why the genre is ruined by anything more 'radical' than that kind of works. The genre is popularily connected to them, yes, but what can we do about it? There's an angst novel about a trans(wo)man mc, should it's disallowed from ticking the gender bender genre?

The way I see it, it's, similar to a case of [isekai genre]. It's full of japanese isekai tropes (obviously), and an avid of portal fantasy really can't do anything but to tick that [isekai] box cause there's no other way around it. Are they ruining isekai genre?

As for the sex theme. You just have to find a website or publisher that doesn't cater to it. I assure you, the moment you enter a website nicknamed SmutHub, you have more problem than this supposed sex scenes in muh gender bender stories.

Just an example. JJWX publisher in China. It really really heavily caters to GL stories, and most of the stories are 'innocent' just like what you want in a gender bender. The reason? It pretty much has very light stories with no deeper exploration on homosexuality, cause it's webnovel, write whatever, have fun. They also periodically censor them steamy scenes.
You have to understand that some people usually use that tag as an excuse to a specific premise. It's like another exhausting first 10 chapters of infant life as a reincarnated person, thrown into a forest in another world and survive, in a cave, a beginner village, caravan being attack by a tribe of goblins, etc.

And only after that I began questioning the premise of this thread itself:
What we should question is why OP leading us to gender identity or sex-theme as for why gender bender genre is flopping. Even though it's in its own already shitty and tiring.

I wouldn't go as far as GB being hated (though some people definitely do hate it), but on second thought I think that was a combination of unclear wording on OP's part and some interpretation on ours. This was likely more about same-sex relationships:
This makes me wonder if people are tired of gender bender tags now? Or a turn off? And can ordinary straight people still like and read a gender bender story now? Or are people too divided on it now?
Still, though, up to interpretation. OP didn't make it clear, and those topics, talked in the same sentence as gender bender, make trans characters a fairly obvious connection - definitely a more controversial one, which is bound to attract more attention.

You exclude the part before, which, in my opinion, is equally important.
Over 10 years ago... if you had a gender bender tag up it didn't have to be about gender identity or sex. It could be a fairly innocent sex-less story. But society has in the last 10 years especially (Not only that but you get the idea) had everyone sort of... force gender out in the open artificially and been trying to make people take sides on it.
Take sides, force out in the open, 10 years. To me it looks like a person asks whether woke made WN readers hate GB or not.

Gee, I wonder why.

trans-affirming care has not lowered it at all
Google exists. Different people will, of course, have different experiences, but this is just plain dishonesty or ignorance. Many studies will show you a decrease in suicidality in trans people post-GAC. It isn't rocket science to suggest that people will fare better when they're more at peace with their own identity.

That's the last I'll say on this matter as this thread has gone waaay off the rails. I pity whoever has to go through it and decide whether or not to shut it down.

Please don't make this information up. Trans-affirming care has, far and away the most positive impact to prevent transgender suicide.
Ummmmmmmmmm...

Ok, I am going to stop and instead pray for everyone here, for the salvation of all of your souls by the way of Jesus Christ. He who purifies us and gives us peace. i pray that you all become believers and find personal relationship with the God who created you and desires good for you. Amen.

Yep, true that. I thought that too at first, why I answered the way I did in my first message here. After everything that happened in this thread and how little OP participated though, I just don't know now. All of those topics are also heavily related.

Whatever it was, I got my fair share of enjoyment out of this thread.

I'm confused about why it's that hard to just write and read what you like.

I happen to be old enough before BL became popular on NU/NUF, and every time there is a genre or subgenre of something that people dislike that appears on their feed, lots of people turn to pitchforks or want to nuke it out of oblivion.

Just be tolerant.

Seeing something that you don't like is at worst, an inconvenience, but people are diverse. All spaces have their own kinds of bubbles, and the demographics of people on NU 10 years ago are quite different from the demographics now. SH is similar, in the sense that it's not necessarily the case that there are more LGBT/trans people in the world than 10 years ago, but rather there there are more people with different tastes congregating in this particular space. Populations and demographics evolve over time.

If you go to a different kind of space, you won't see those people again.

Internet xenophobia has always been strange to me though.

I pray for everyone who had experienced the 2015-early 2017 NUF run. The trollers back then were literally deranged. And I think the whole Qidian Webnovel tragedy rewired everyone's brain.
