The manga "Kusuriya no Hitorigoto/The Apothecary Diaries" has now replaced "Honzuki no Gekokujou/Ascendance of a Bookworm" as my favorite. What good comics have you been reading?

Yo I haven't read The Apothecary Diaries for a while, has anything interesting happened to make it your favorite? I didn't really like it because of the romance I think but I'm interested in why it became your favorite now.

There are two versions of it:
The Apothecary Diaries The first comic is very mystery-oriented and is what convinced people to try making an anime. It is full-on Sherlock Holmes/Dr. House. This is the one I read.

The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao's Notes from the Inner Palace The second comic follows the same story but is way more faithful to the novel, so they have a lot more romance than the version I read. It's got that shoujo appeal, making it more like Grey's Anatomy.

EDIT: as for why I like it. Lots of schemes.

I don't think there is any difference between shoujo, shounen, josei, seinen. Manga art should be judged on a case-by-case basis.
Oh, there definitely is. Shoujo authors tend to overly focus on the characters eyes and lips and neglect everything else; it's jarring if you're not used to it. Kind of like how some shounen authors overly focus on the breasts.

Sure. There are also some shoujo mangakas that have 'generic' anime artstyle. Personally, I don't find it bad, but it might look boring to other people.

Are you talking about king's brother? I didn't mind him. Typical shrewd, foxy kind of character if my memory doesn't fail me.
Oh Jinshi? Fuck that guy; I hope MC blueballs him until the last chapter.

Yeah, that's Jinshi. He's still a manchild but in the first comic he at least does his job well.
Oh, so he's still like that..... You know he would've been better in a cultivation bl story then this one
