Just surprised.
I want to know your opinions.
I don't know how to take the news.
Pretty much didn't expect it on my bingo card for 2025.

I don't know. ?‍ Can be good if she hired good writers. Yes, I know the title and news state she will write, but, it's not hate btw, I don't believe it. Idols are brands first and foremost. They are not like artists, musicans, or moviestars in other countries. So I don't believe she did it herself. Can I believe some random rapper from US is going to make a comic, movie, or even a game? I can. Can I believe a Japanese or Korean Idol decides to do it? No.

Anyway, I don't find the move itself bad. If you can promote like this, why not? As a manga fan, I do find it bad, but as a normal person there's nothing wrong with it. Lastly, even as a manga fan, I don't think it will automatically make this manga bad. Again, maybe she hires someone and that someone cooks hard, heck, maybe she will write it herself and it will turn up good. Who knows.

As a manga fan, I respect your perspective.

K-pop idols are marketed as brands, and a lot of their projects involve a whole team behind the scenes.

So scepticism is fair.

I think it’s possible for an idol to have a genuine interest and want to be directly involved in it.

Lisa has been pretty vocal about her love for it, so it's not out of the question if she had a hand behind this. At the end of the day, if she wrote it all by herself or with someone more experienced, the final product is what matters the most.

But like you said—who knows? Maybe it'll surprise us. As long as it’s not just a cash grab, I think it's worth my take.

But technically speaking, if it's created in Korea, it would be a manhwa.
Since it's being published in Japan and follows the manga format, it seems like it's a manga, according to me. Correct me if I am wrong here.

As for K-dramas using Blackpink’s music, I am not sure.
I haven't ventured into that terrain yet.

Technically manhwa is manga that was made in Korea, and published by Korean companies. There are Korean artists that draw and publish in Japan, so we call them mangakas as they draw manga. Same way manhua is manga made and published in China.

Don't mix up webtoon and manhwa, or webtoons and manhua. Webtoons are usually digital only and made in those long strips you can scroll infinitely. Manhwa or manhua, same as manga, are standard comic books that you flip through.

I don't think so. I did find it overall ok-ish.
Just felt the pacing of Dave arc's could have been expanded by 3 or 4 episodes.
It was pretty mediocre.
Not the best in years but still enjoyable nonetheless.
