Lo! Gather ye, o wanderers of the scribes’ hallowed ground, for upon this wretched stage, where scribblers of web-bound epics do prattle and wail, a most riotous farce doth unfold! Behold OP, the self-styled herald of truth, who striketh the gong of discourse, yet knoweth not the folly of his own tongue! And lo, in the shadowed corners, Roastmaster, wielder of wit sharper than Achilles’ spear, awaiteth, ready to flay pride from bone with words like flaming arrows! Beast, though unseen, is ever-named, a specter of obsession haunting this wretched scroll! And let not the Chorus be forgot, those merry mockers, those wise fools, who, with tongues loosed by mirth or malice, shall weave this tragic jest into legend! Thus beginneth the first round of this most cursed contest, a tale not of heroes, but of fools, not of triumph, but of hubris laid bare!
Round 1. OP
Title: Beast_regard's history and obsession with RoyalRoad
I don't use Scribble Hub much, and that's an understatement. I got bored and checked out these forums recently. Only to see that Beast is still, somehow, obsessed with RoyalRoad.
This saddens me to no end. I really hoped they'd given up on this by now.
Weirdly enough, I can't seem to find any posts from Beast explaining exactly what happened. Barring a short comment they made recently when asked about it:
It's not a secret. I came to the "MJ's paradise" to find the broader audience than the smaller, less story-focused sites could offer. It time, I became frustrated with their attitude and constantly tightening rules, then had a disagreement with them, and left.
This is so purposefully vague that it's dishonest and misleading. So I find myself compelled to give a more thorough retelling of the events. I hope it acts as a wake-up call for Beast and helps give everyone else a clearer picture. At least for those that weren't already there for it.To start with, they had many alts they used to post on the royalroad forums besides their main Beast_Regards account. A lot of posts. Ones that touted weirdly specific accusations and delusions, and did so without trying to be nice about it.
On royalroad, some of their many alts included: "Esbe Esi", "Big.mek", and "Indigo.Vexx". Just going off the obvious ones that other people on the forums mentioned were Beast alts. No idea how many others I'm forgetting or didn't notice. The Esbe Esi account in particular was their main account for ranting about the site, the rating system, and spouting conspiracy theories. Everyone disagreeing with their posts just upset Beast more and more as time went on. Literally hundreds and hundreds of posts of increasingly aggressive delusions.
I almost can't believe that Beast is still accusing people of working for royalroad, even on this site, in a recent post. Because that's completely sane behavior and not at all concerning. There were more alts but they came and went so quickly most of us lost track. As Beast makes incredibly specific claims about that site, identifying their alts was extremely easy. Oh, the site is owned by Google or Amazon? It's a Beast alt. The rating system is there because royalroad is evil? It's a Beast alt. The site makes Billions of dollars by exploiting authors? It's a Beast alt. That's before mentioning their syntax, which is very distinct and recognizable.Beast. Brother. Almost everyone knew about your alts on royalroad, and they were all laughing at you. You constantly making alts was a long-running joke for the authors on those forums. After their Esbe Esi account finally got banned for becoming increasingly unhinged (or they deleted it out of frustration, I don't actually know which), they couldn't hold back with ranting on their main account. That just made their use of alts much more public. This led to them becoming even more ostracized and making a dramatic thread about leaving shortly thereafter. A thread they deleted when the responses from authors were almost universally flippant and relieved instead of supportive.
I mean. They didn't actually leave. They kept using alts on the forums after that, because they can't help themselves. Though they did delete their story and main account from the site. They also didn't keep their obsession contained to one site. Their reddit username is, unsurprisingly, "beast_regards". While some of their more unpopular comments were removed or deleted, you can see they stopped posting on the royalroad subreddit around the end of 2023. That could be considered progress! If only the reason for that weren't that they just switched to alts on reddit, too, once people started to recognize and ridicule Beast's typical responses. Or when we include how Beast started posting about their obsession on these forums, too.
I don't pay much attention to that subreddit, so I only remember one of their alts they were using on reddit. It was something close to the username "thatanimepleb", possibly with dashes or underscores mixed in. That one was eventually recognized as an alt and also deleted, because Beast can't help beating the same talking points to death on every account. No idea how many other alts they tried on there. Now here we are, years after they've left the site. Still making posts about royalroad almost daily. Before even accounting for other platforms and other alts they could still be using to continue to rant about it.
It's possible Beast is going to say I'm being dishonest about these series of events. That I'm over or under exaggerating them somehow. It's a good thing you don't have to take my word for what happened. There are still some quotes that survived those accounts getting deleted, at least on royalroad's forums, to demonstrate what I've claimed is true.Hell, let's say we ignore everything I've said. Look at their posting history on these forums and take them on their own merits. Can you imagine any possible scenario that would reasonably justify their obsession? Even if we just go solely by the activity they've demonstrated on Scribble Hub's forums?Look. I get it. We thought Beast's obsession was funny on royalroad, too. It became increasingly less funny and more concerning as time went on. It stopped being funny entirely over 1000 posts ago.
If you care about them at all, I encourage you try to get them to see a mental health professional. If you don't care, I hope you'll at least resist feeding into their delusions and obsession. Either way, now you'll have some context for their posts constantly mentioning royalroad.
Round 2. Chorus
I do not agree with Beast's obsession. I do not agree with this post either. If you are so concerned you would've reached out to Beast personally, dropping badly hidden attempt to ridicule beast and start a drama. I'm reporting this thread and you for harassing a person. I hope you have a good day on RR forums.
Round 3. OP
Ah yes. I've definitely never sent messages to Beast before, suggesting they seek help privately, hoping they would get the help they need. Beast is obviously a totally healthy person that would listen to such a suggestion in good faith instead of seeing it as an attack or a conspiracy.
They left royalroad years ago. They're still obsessed. You guys humor them and treat it like a laugh, encouraging the delusion. Forcing them to face the truth of the matter is about all one can do to try to help at this point. Or make one of you more aware, hope they value your opinion enough to listen to your suggestion, and have you try to get them help.
It definitely isn't going to hurt more than laughing at their obsession and treating it like a good thing and encouraging it.
Round 4. Roastmaster
For every reason there's action. No one wakes up one day and says, You know what? I think I’ll dedicate years of my life to an internet crusade against a website! There has to be a trigger, some deep personal grievance, real or imagined, that set the course of the action further by the individual. I don't see you doing any analysis on this. All I see is "Beast bad, because site good," without giving any example on what action that RR did to make Beast go haywire on alt accounts.
People don’t develop conspiracy theories in a vacuum. If there's an observable fact, and it can't be explained by clear logic, conspiracies emerge. But, because gaslighting and reframing exists, the truth gets distorted. If you saw that individual, and didn't help with clearing out the assumptions and the conspiracies, I see that as a community you had failed to connect with individuals, however unlikeable they might be.
When the community becomes hostile you for stating facts, however wrong might be, you feel powerless. Had you seen what percieved powerlessness does to people? It makes weak willed people obsess with whatever thing that made them wrong, even when that wrong was accidental or delusional. Strong willed move on, but that's not what happened here.
The more Beast ranted, the more they were ostracized. The more ostracized they became, the more isolated they felt. That isolation led to further obsession, a feedback loop where the only thing left was their grudge. When people are ridiculed instead of understood, they often double down rather than change. This is what lead to this situation.
Did you think about this? Clearly no, because you need to have a point that "this individual bad because of a bad behavior." It makes you look as a perverted crusader who obsesses with people who hate your system. Every stubbornness has its roots. Every ridiculous statement has a sliver of truth. You just don't want to talk about it.
What if, instead of mocking Beast in RR, someone had asked them in there, What really happened to you for you to get obsessed with this site?
Would we have a different story? Would they have calmed down, felt heard, and moved on?
Instead, all I see is the tragedy of a person so consumed by bitterness that they became the town fool—and an RR audience too annoyed to wonder why and complain about it in SH.
Round 5. OP
>All I see is "Beast bad, because site good," without giving any example on what action that RR did to make Beast go haywire on alt accounts.
I'm not saying that. Screw royalroad for all I care. It's not beast bad cause site good. It's "Beast is saying things that are actually delusional and they need to talk to a professional."
Was I not specific enough? I felt the post was extremely longwinded as it was. It started with their gripes about the rating system being unfair and evolved from there to demonizing it in pretty much all the ways and turning it into their personal boogeyman.
>What if, instead of mocking Beast in RR, someone had asked them in there, What really happened to you for you to get obsessed with this site?Would we have a different story? Would they have calmed down, felt heard, and moved on?
Instead, all I see is the tragedy of a person so consumed by bitterness that they became the town fool—and an RR audience too annoyed to wonder why and complain about it in SH...
Plenty tried to reason with them, make them feel heard, and be nice. It did not work. You can also look to the past several years of them posting on these forums with people humoring them and commiserating and how it hasn't stopped their obsession.Like I don't even use these forums. I'm not trying to make them better for me or get rid of an annoyance. I genuinely think they need to see a professional, and I hope one of you manages to get them to seek it.
Round 6. Chorus
Right, serious talk this time.I believe everything that needs to be said is already out here, I can't see the point in any further conversation. I couldn't give any less of a shit about what happened some years ago on RR. Right now, Beast doesn't do any harm to the community or anyone else.
This thread was doomed from the start, regarldess of the fact if you speak the truth or not.
Round 7. Roastmaster
You are saying that you're "concerned," but I don't see any way you're trying to help. Again, you're acting like a crusader who only wants to mock someone (even when trying to "help,") because they annoyed you so much you just want those grandstanding moral superiority points.
What a powerful rhetorical trick you're using: once someone is “unstable,” you don’t have to engage with their arguments anymore. That would've worked IRL, but you're in the fucking internet.
If this forum was a smalltalk smalltown community I would've 100% supported this. But this is internet, and you don't know anything REAL about this individual. Why you're acting like a person of credibility when you're essentially doing the same stuff the Beast did in RR? Hypocrite.
There’s a big difference between trying to help and telling someone they’re wrong until they shut up.
Round 8. Chorus
We treated it as a gag when we thought it was a gag. When it first started way back. Now no one who saw it for more than once treat is as a funny joke. A lot of people keep liking beast's profile posts, but I bet it's because of pics, I mean, we are SH, and beast posts furry art.
When beast slandered tyrano I reported beast. And I don't rememebr people reacting with haha there, apart from certain individuals that aren't reputable. I don't even remember much likes on beast's posts back then. Though my memory might be failing me.
Round 9. Roastmaster
I'm here for their furry boobas, not whatever RR opinions they have. I like that for every RR outburst there's a booba on the feed. It's like a smoker putting a coin into a booba looking jar every time they smoke lol
Round 10. OP
Eh. It's not like there isn't some truth here. I admitted I don't like them as a person, and that obviously bled through.
Mental health is still important to me and I am genuinely saddened to see them still obsess over royalroad. The encouragement I saw in their post history is definitely not helping. It was actually a bit upsetting seeing people encouraging the delusions and reinforcing them.
This thread likely won't amount to anything, and I still won't regret making the attempt. Worst case scenario, people are more aware of how they're encouraging Beast's obsession and might do it less.
Beast has literally accused forum members on this site of working for royalroad. Yes. They're unwell. Do you want to tell me that's a rational discussion one shouldn't dismiss out of hand? That it isn't a delusion?
If you feel the need to engage with that argument and convince them that someone doesn't work for royalroad, by all means. It isn't the first time they've made this claim, and nothing you say will convince them otherwise. The only thing that would change their mind is seeing a professional that helps them understand themselves.
Round 11. Roastmaster
Oh, so now this isn’t about Beast—it’s about the community "encouraging" them? That’s a nice little pivot. Too bad that I explained why I'm here, for boobas for every RR outburst. If your goal was to help the community, why did your original post spend so much time just ridiculing Beast? Sure, they're this, they're that, they annoyed so much, so why you just not move on, like a strong willed man you claim to be by trying to "help"?
Even if Beast is completely delusional, shutting them down or mocking them clearly hasn’t helped. Has anyone actually tried asking them why they believe what they believe?
I don’t have to entertain Beast’s paranoia to recognize that something caused it. Just saying "they need professional help" doesn’t explain how they got here.
Round 12. OP
>Oh, so now this isn’t about Beast—it’s about the community "encouraging" them? That’s a nice little pivot.
That's not a pivot. It's still about beast, but they're not going to go see someone at my say-so. The whole post was about making the audience, you guys, realize beast is unwell and needs help. I even ended it by blatantly saying I hope people at least stop feeding into their delusion. I was very upfront about all that.
I understand it's a rather long post, so you might have missed that bit.
>Even if Beast is completely delusional, shutting them down or mocking them clearly hasn’t helped. Has anyone actually tried asking them why they believe what they believe?
They aren't exactly shy about it. Do you think people haven't asked them why they're so obsessed? It seems like no matter what I say you want to find fault in it.
Multiple angles have been tried. Kindness, understanding, trying to gently lead them to the answer, telling them bluntly to get help, humoring them. Nada. Seeing them still so obsessed about royalroad and having that obsession encouraged is upsetting.
The only thing I haven't tried, because I am not one of their friends, is for their current community to attempt to get them to seek help. Hence, this post.
>Forcing them to seek help by publicly calling them out is one of the worst things you can do.
This thread is either going to get people to try to help Beast, encourage them a bit less, or they're going to keep being obsessed. Given they were going to keep being obsessed anyways, this isn't going to hurt anything.
Round 13. Roastmaster
You didn't answer why you're so obsessed with this individual. I ask again, if this was really about the community all along, why did most of your post just mock Beast? Did Beast somehow created radical anti-RR terrorist cell in SH like you're trying to portray? No. This is just an individual who hot burned with RR experience, went totally mad, and now you're still persecuting even when that certain individual left that site, being totally bitter about the experience.
Oh, also, I read it just fine. I just don’t buy the idea that this was about helping anyone. Publically calling out someone is a risk, and if the people aren't exactly biased like you are, it will fail. You had failed to do just that.
SH is completely different compared to RR. It is capable of self moderating because it's a smaller site. There aren't any radicalized groups occupying this site, and specifically this forum, so why you're so obsessed with calling out one bitter individual who certainly will not fool anyone with the anti-RR rhetoric? That's dumb. And with you publicly calling that individual out again and again certainly doesn't remove label "obsessed" from you.
Forcing someone to seek help by making a spectacle out of them rarely works. This thread is an example. It didn't achieve anything besides having more intent on self moderation. If that individual you speak of goes out of the line, that individual will be punished. Tony is our benevolent Lord, and he'll do what needs to be done.
Round 14. OP
I did answer you. I said it was upsetting seeing someone unwell have their delusion encouraged. Someone that I failed to help when they were on royalroad. You can choose to not believe me, but that is the reason.
>Oh, also, I read it just fine. I just don’t buy the idea that this was about helping anyone. Publically calling out someone is a risk, and if the people aren't exactly biased like you are, it will fail. You had failed to do just that.
You're free to not believe me. But Beast has never displayed any behavior that this would be any kind of risk in bringing it up. The only risk is that I would fail to accomplish anything, and at that point, who cares? Just means it would become another pointless thread on the Scribble Hub forums.
>so why you're so obsessed with calling out one bitter individual who certainly will not fool anyone with the anti-RR rhetoric? That's dumb. And with you publicly calling that individual out again and again certainly doesn't remove label "obsessed" from you.
I'm pretty sure I can point to Beast's behavior of ranting about royalroad every day as obsessed. I don't think I can qualify my behavior of a thread and a few posts as obsessed. Especially considering how long it's been since they even crossed my mind. By those standards, you're way more obsessed than I am about almost everything you've ever posted about.
I tried a few posts, was dissatisfied with how I handled it, then made a thread about it. I'm not going to continue to bang my head against that wall further. I'm far too lazy to have an obsession.
So either I made an impact or I didn't. I'd rather be a person that tried and failed than just shook my head and ignored someone that obviously needs help. Especially when there are no consequences for my failure.
Round 15. Roastmaster
Wow, a tragic hero against the society! Certainly not hypocritical, as you could've just pressed that "ignore" button on the delusional, always wrong, always irritating individual with a nickname "beast_regards".
You’ve spent this whole thread ranting about how Beast is obsessed, but now you’re acting like you don’t care? Which is it? I certainly don't care, I just like boobas the beast is posting and breaking down the rhetoric of obsessed, full of ego "saviors" like you.
You did the spectacle, and I'm just a performer showing how delusional about your position you are, even if the individual is a paranoid mess after RR. You didn’t try to help—you tried to shame. That’s not the same thing. So, I'm doing the same against you, shaming you for even trying to make this thread in question.
A normal individual doesn't take seriously what internet people are saying. The fact you are serious makes me try to mock your rhetoric even more. The thing you've shown with this post that you're:
1. Petty. Showing the thing that made you to have hatred.
2. Have savior complex. You're trying to save someone who hates you, which is just plain stupid. Hate is equal to love in terms of emotions, so I think you're obsessed with this individual just by talking about it.
3. Egoistical. No sane person asks to "help" stranger on the internet unless they want to feed their ego. That's plain stupid.
4. Want to have power without having one. You're not a moderator, not a person affiliated with this site. You have no power. Tony will handle it if it's too much for ordinary user to handle.
And that's just the surface. I don't know you, where are you from, what you do, but with the text you've sent, all I see is a petty ego that can't handle that some annoying individual moved on but still posts about the site you like.
Pathetic.
Round 16. OP
I mean I would take your post seriously and keep responding in good faith as I have been. Except for the part where you're literally telling me I'm foolish and mocking me for taking this seriously.
Especially after that list. I'm not exactly difficult to insult even from going from just this thread, but those were quite the reach.
I've seen your roast thread. This was not your best work. Not an invitation, though. Clearly this conversation isn't going to go any further and I won't be making any more progress here, if there was any to be had at all.
Round 17. Roastmaster
Ah yes, the classic "I could keep arguing, but I choose not to." Classic move when you have nothing left to say. Cool, that means you can't refute anything I said. You just said my list was "quite the reach" without explaining why. Almost like you had no counter.
Oh no, my roast didn’t meet your standards? Damn, I guess I’ll have to try harder next time. Oh wait, you’re leaving. Better luck next time trying to hate someone publicly.
No need to pretend you’re leaving because you want to. We both know you ran out of arguments. Don't even try to have a last word, ego.
Denouement. Chorus.
Chorus 1: I think beast is complaining about RR to have an excuse to post furry pics daily. the bastard is obsessed alright
Chorus 2: OP should stop digging. You already reached bedrock, man. Not only that, you missed several diamond ore on the way down. It's time to reroute. The only thing you will find this way is more skeletons without loot. Plus, your inventory is full at the same time. Go store all of those bones in a chest or something.
Justabot: Targeting a user like this is just inviting drama. Locked.
And so, with tongues wearied from much wrangling and egos laid low upon the altar of wit, the dust of battle settl’d upon this tattered scroll, its echoes fading into the void whence all vain quarrels go to die. The fool, thinking himself wise, departeth in shame, and the wise, delighting in folly, laugh and make merry. The gods of discourse, moved not by righteousness but by jest, smirk from their lofty heights, for such is the fate of those who prattle long yet learn naught. Let it be known henceforth—no great truths were won this day, nor honor salvaged, only the undying lesson that the mightiest jest is not spoken by gods, nor penned by poets, but wrought by men who know not their own absurdity.
