"Oh my ability is to slurp everyones sweat and turn it into sweet lemom juice that makes it when i drink it i can control your body or something like"

When they confront their enimes they just tell them thier abilities...

Why does every anime character is like this?

They are just telling them thier abilities so they can prepare a counter attack to that ability!!!

Even if it the opponent is tied up or they're at their last breaths, you can't just tell them your abilities!

They can just find weakness in your abilities.

Even if its a two seconds, two seconds matter a lot in any battle, you know?

They might panick when they are at death's door but that might be a façade.

Needless to say, but isn't that very moronic?

Oh you might say they explain thier powers to the viewers but they don't even know we exist. doesn't that mean every character knows that he is a character?

JJK did this fine and thats why its a great show.

basic Shounen trope though, so no surprise ? it's the basic "show and tell" which the latter surely feels redundant.

for God's sake make it a footnote!

Like, the only one you probably wouldn’t is Yu-gi-oh that explains the effects lol. Though, even that gets kinda bad without actually showing it.

Early 5D’s though did things very well with the show. Such as with Slip Stream being meant to catch your opponent off guard. So, you do not let them know.

You activate the trap in secret, and then when they realize. The way it was shown, you understood what Slip Stream did. This was a very good way on how to explain something without telling it too much.

I think how Yuuichi do things is right.
He doesn't explain his plans, the opponents slowly figure it out and when when they are beaten.

No clue what your first post says but to answer the subject line: "Yes, at some point in their lives, everyone IS a moron. For most, the majority of their lives they are not, but even the best of us has our moron moments, and some never have anything BUT..."

CN Cultivation novels have the side-characters or mobs explain every single ability the MC or antagonists use. For a Trillion year old long-lost secret cultivation manual, they sure aren't that secrety after all.
Not that I'm complaining against it since it's pretty funny how they do it in parodies.

Umm. I was talking about fictional characters.

Honestly, that was the only thing I could figure out from it, and was not even sure of the context there...
Its about why every character just reveals their abilities infront of their enemies.

Ah, that trope. I think it started in the (often badly) dubbed movies from Hong Kong that flooded Western markets in the 70s - "My kung fu is better than yours! Flying Dragon Lotus!" "I counter with Drunken Monkey!"
It may be part of an Asian view (probably at least partly justified) that foreign audiences are stupid and need to have everything explained to them...

They like to boast, trying to crush their enemies' spirits at the end.
Me? I would lie even then. Who knows if they have a way to survive, or a listening device planted on them?
Heck, some characters can make clones of themselves that they can communicate through. You might actually be facing one and not the character itself!
