The benefits of posting at the same time each week cannot be underestimated. Even if the title and cover don't seem interesting to a reader at first, seeing it on the updates page every week tells the reader that you are a dedicated author, and it also helps hook their curiosity.

Honestly, I think the hardest part isn't finding readers (they will come with an interesting enough title/description/cover/premise) but keeping them :blob_popcorn: . You gotta treat them well and give them yummy snacks and make sure they get their weekly walks :blob_nom:

Honestly, I think most of my readers just stay out of pity, so maybe that's a good branch to go down? :blob_sir:

Well, some of the most successful stories have one or two (but AFAICT rarely all three) of the following tags: Gender Bender, Girls' Love or Smut.

But there are exceptions.

What they said. So pick up that spear, and make sure you land the mark on your throw. :blob_reach:

Any tips on how to get more readers on scribblehub? I think i got RR down to a pat but I am unsure about the culture here still.
1) Its like drawing, dont stop
continue doing it and people will find it out bc of the quantity
But it depends on quality too.

2) At 50+ chapter mark, people flood in bc they/everyone think "oh looks like this author wont drop this series at ch3 like hundreds authors did."

3) Theme (a sports urban series wont bring as much as a fantasy one, unless you got a very interesting idea. Kinda like OPM had one)
4) The evil technique : SMUT
5) Cover + synopsis
6) Ch1 and 2 and 3 are the golden chapters. The hook to keep readers. From 300 readers you could flop to 50 if badly done.

For reference, I post 2 chapters per day. As you can see, even with extreme consistancy and constant updates, views don't always follow. There are good days and bad days. Days where a lot of readers come, and days where it's not the case. Just keep at it. For me, I know that it's only once every 4 days that I have a lot of views, and I'm ok with that

I'd personally recommend getting about 7-14 chapters, then start by posting 1-2 weeks straight with 1 a day, then settle into a specific schedule. Initial exposure to rope readers that are on outside of your usual time, then settling into the schedule to be predictable.

Alright. I want to be helpful, but the techniques I know were developed by a different community for another platform (haha, a defector revealing the guild’s secrets :s_eek: —just kidding), and due to technical differences between sites and various cultural nuances, they might not work here. I can’t promise anything, but sharing experiences might still prove useful.
1. Rush hour. The surge in readership may be due to people reading chapters on the subway or while stuck in traffic on their way to and from work. The release of a new chapter on the homepage should be timed to coincide with these traffic peaks.
2. Trends. Take advantage of popular tags that draw in a larger audience. One important note: if you’ve presented a certain style or tags in the first few chapters as your “hook,” you shouldn’t change them to something else later—the audience won’t appreciate that.
3. Forbidden technique. There was an author who became famous for writing A LOT of text, albeit of POOR quality, yet still found success. One of his methods was to start a book, write a few chapters, check its popularity, and if the popularity was low—delete the book and start a new one.
4. Presence on the Homepage. It may seem obvious, but it’s important. To understand how to achieve this, you need to know the site’s algorithms.
5. Engaging with the Audience. Due to cultural differences, I don’t need the details, but it is a promising area worth exploring.

one of my books gets updated on novelupdates, but the other one doesn't. this is mystifying for me. should I just re-release the book.
