Lots and lots. In "Strange Awakening" and the Jack Diamond stories, there is a "hidden" world alongside the normal one - shapeshifters and magical beings have lived there for as long as there have been humans, and there are other creatures from Outside. But they are based on superhero comic books, where aliens, extradimensional beings, literal gods, and humans (or "once-human-but-maybe-no-longers) who can kick the @$$e$ of all of them are standard so...

In "Between Worlds" there are literally infinite numbers. So far, I have only dealt with humans, Aelfor (and hybrids) and dragons, but there are several others (minotaurs and orcs at least get mentioned), but one of the characters has the ability to travel anywhere, so anything is possible.

It depends on the world and the story.

Five, but some can be further divided

1) Humans
2) Beastmen, which is divided into Canus (dog), Ursus (bear), Isidus (fish), Insetus (insect) and Serpentinus (dragons)
3) Demons, which is divided into goblins, orcs, ghouls, succubi and incubi, vampires, and werewolves
4) Elves, which is divided into forest, Chersean and mud
5) Dwarves

For my fantasies, multiple. Do half and partial mixes count? I'm also guilty of throwing everything into my worlds. It would take a while to make a list and explain them all. I need to do better with my glossarys.

Races? Many, but they're under the beastkin species.

Species, not race.

Humans are species as well, so there's that. Though I have two that's considered a race since they fall under the demihuman species, which were The Ascended and The Genesis

I have 12 playable ones (available to the protagonists), but they're split it in 6 big families, each with 2 takes on it.

Humans (normal vs beefy), Dragons (human-like or dragon-like), Bunnies (human-like or bunny-like), Cats (human-like or cat-like), Elves (tolkienesque or anime-style), Dwarves (and halflings).

There are plenty of non-playable ones, like Lizardmen, Harpies, Gnolls.

I didn't count. Maybe over 100 different races across the galaxy? Mostly from my failed/forgotten novel drafts (with most of them got deleted due "sensitive" purposes, enough to get Twitter (X) users angry).

I have a brother who is with many races, every year. All over the world, he has his favourite races, and the world has many races for he and his husband to share in; my brother has never beaten his spouse, he is beaten with every race.

I do not race.
