So I just watched the first episode and the first crazy thing I noticed was: even though hianime was filled with tons of ad, some people still went through with the trouble to rate solo leveling there and Solo leveling season 2 got a 9.9/10 rating there. I know the site is unofficial but it shows how crazy people are for solo leveling. The first does the same things of manhwa as you know but I expected a bit slower pace. The episode was a bit fast. I thought they'd add some extra scenes on when jin woo gets to jinah's school, to make him look popular around girls but A1 didn't. The animation is over the top. The ending is imo bad, the opening is pretty good(tho s1 opening was better imo). They tried but they failed a bit to do the manhwa jinwoo. They made the jawline like a triangle but if you notice, in manhwa jinwoo doesn't have a triangle jawline. So yeah they did mess up the jawline a bit but hey this one is very close to manhwa sung jin woo, like 95% at least. At the end of episode 1 sung jin woo is close to getting his another shadow "iron", he'll likely get him in episode 2's first ten minutes.... That's pretty much it and the other scenes you might know from manhwa. Do checkout the anime, the overall production was top notch.

Better Then Jujutsu Kaisen?
(Hence Proved)

You say that after watching jjk huh? The one that's just gojo, gojo and gojo, whike the mc is shown as a side character. Do you know jjk was originally supposed to be a horror genre series but due to some white haired n!gga, it became a whole different story and even the writer of it hates the fact that he can't do something he wants but has to do something that fans are crazy for. Yeah sl revolves around sjw in the manhwa and novel but who knows the anime might add some extra scenes.

Not gonna lie every one of jjk fans just likes gojo and watch jjk for gojo, threaten author for gojo, mind bind the team for gojo, replace the mc for gojo and everything for gojo. A few days ago one of my friends asked "Dude, where can I watch the 'Gojo Anime'....." seriously that's what you call jjk that doesn't revolve around only one character, seriously?!

(Don't mind my tone, it's a bit rude but I swear my intention wasn't that and I'm totally chill while writing the reply. Hope you won't go agro because of fictional stories :)

I don't like Solo Leveling. Initially I did because I had never read manhwa really, and the art is good. But there was a big turning point where I stopped liking it.

Why?
Okay I wrote something wrong! Actually the 9.9 rating wasn't individual but solo leveling's debut rating in crunchyroll?

This is the best debut rating ever done in the history of anime, a literal 9.9★

The reasons are all spoiler.

I'm more a fan of The Unwanted Undead Adventurer, myself, but Solo Leveling will certainly be watched weekly for me. I have enjoyed season1 well enough, and season2 seems like it'll be interesting.

Also, the quality of combat animation in the show is so good.

They should have opened with the statue scene, not on jeju island. It was a bad call.

The bones of a decent anime were there, because the original story is a decent powerleveling story… but the real draw to Solo Leveling has always been the art of its wonderful (sadly passed) artist: Dubu.

The smiling statue section was largely alright: they should have started here. Because everything about MC’s character before mattered less than the cinematic potential of opening the story with opening that door.

Also, and this… momentarily induced levels of rage I don’t even want to touch upon, but which I would be remiss to ignore:

I could select from something like 8 languages on crunchyroll.

None of them Korean.

Hopefully "Beginning aAfter the End" is treated better. The fucked a Returners magic, Noblesse and Tower of God. i pray the dont ruin Teenage Mercenary should they decide to animate. Though that one could be done live action. Medical Return would be fucking dope made into an anime, if the leave the settings alone
None of them Korean
For that, you'll need to watch it on a Korean site.

The Novel's Extra would be dope too.

Teenage mercenary is quite like lookism, realistic action, no fantasy(low fantasy in lookism but very less established). So I hope it would be good if they do teenage mercenary but take me for sure that tbate is gonna be so bad. I mean I don't know why even turtleme gave the production to a studio that's record is even worse then my career. Turtleme's taking bad decisions lately, like changing artist of tbate, patreon schedule changing and then this anime adaptation..

Even the trailer's quality was like a 1/100 of solo leveling's quality. Only if turtleme tried to get A1 pictures or any better studio then it'd have been better but bro just wants an anime of his own and that's why he isn't gonna wait and give the work to a shit studio -_-

The novel's extra will need a lot more time to even get consideration about getting adapted.

I think some romance+action+fantasy manhwa will get anime adaptation before the novel's extra.

I'm also excited for orv's adaptation which I think will release in peak 2025
