Reminder to everyone that torture is a form of coercion and sadism only.

It is not reliable in gaining information at all.

A tortured person will only tell you what you want to hear, and there is no way of verifying that what they've told you is true. There is no way of discerning whether or not it is a lie. If you need a signed confession, regardless of guilt, and want the person to serve as an example, torture is perfect for that.

Otherwise, if you want actual actionable and useful information from someone, the only effective technique is to treat them well and gain their trust.

This doesn't stop people from torturing other people for information, but it does mean that they're not going to get actual information, just possible capitulation.

Anyway, that alone is often the worst and cruelest part of torture. To be relentlessly tortured for information you don't actually have.

Take a pair of pliers and have the prisoners line up. Tell them that you will go down the line ripping out every one of each of their finger nails, only stopping when the person getting their finger nails ripped out does not cry, and that if one person does not cry, then everyone after them will be spared.
(real torture that the Nazis did to people who were in their concentration camps. My great grandmother was spared this trauma of ripped out finger nails, because the person before her did not cry)

PS, if you remember the James Bond movie where they did the Knotted Rope torture, they did it wrong. To do it right, strap a guy down, even in a chair, with his legs spread. Get a rope with a knot in it, and swing it so it builds up speed. Then bring down towards their balls. Now, for best results, do not actually go for the genitals, but aim just above it. The nerve endings pass through there and will cause more pain, but very little if any damage.

I won't mention other ideas I have, and if the cops ask about them, I will claim I could never imagine them.

Now, if magic or high tech can be used, you can include some very nasty things.

Fun fact, your feet are incredibly sensitive. Targeting the soles of the feet was a common torture tactic.

If you want to go really low tech, there is also torture by "Weighting" or "Pressing" which is where a person is placed between two slabs of wood (or metal) and weights (such as rocks) are applied to the top one. Gradually, the person is crushed to death if they didn't reveal information or confess as it was used during the Witch Trials.

For something really horrific, there was a form of torture where they would cut into a person's abdomen to pull out their long intestine and hook it onto a metal rod. They'd then turn the rod with a handle and slowly drag out the person's insides. It was kind of a "expecting them to die" type of torture.

There is also Keelhauling where a person was dragged under the boat from one end of the boat to the other. This torture was more of a punishment than torturing for information. Most people died from drowning and the injuries they sustained but the survivors would carry horrendous scars from the sharp barnicles that they were dragged across.

Okay. Listen to me i know this sounds very wrong but hear me out.

This is all for productive reasoning.
I am just looking for the worst torture methods.
The one i know are pretty meh they are fine and not that extreme. I wana know extreme ones.
The one i know:
•scraping/peeling off human skin.
Then putting needles in that part of that skin.
And if you cut of the tongue its more perfect.
•Stretching out muscles fibers until it tatters.
•feeding a person their own flesh/organs.
•Peeling of thier nails and stabbing it with glass shards.
•For phycological damage, feed them their loved ones organs or apply these methods to them in front them when they scream

I know i am sadistic but it's not that extreme.okay?

And remember its all for writing. I am not insane enough to do that to somone in real life(probably).

The novel i am writing:Beyond Infinity

Put their extremities (toes, fingers, scrotum, nipples) in contact with really cold surfaces constantly, but otherwise make the room nice and warm for the rest of their body. The extremities will retract blood flow to unhealthy amounts.
Then warm the extremities up quickly. This will cause the tiny blood vessels inside your extremities to burst like sewer pipes. Repeat the process multiple times over the course of a week.
This will cause their extremities to turn swollen with fluid, irritated, and reddened. It will be maddeningly itchy and make them extremely sensitive to even light touch.
Make them have regular tasks in a cluttered area so they are constantly moving around, bumping these sensitive areas into chairs, legos, and the like. They will grow extremely mindful, sensitive, and protective of their toes, fingers, scrotum and/or nipples.
Wait until they are constantly complaining about the cold floors and surfaces, and the strange clothing you are making them wear.
Then start laying hints for a while about how you're going to mess with them. And start stomping on their fingers, dropping heavy stuff on their feet, kneeing and punching them in the breasts or dick. Very simple basic stuff.
Then, finally, start resorting to the classic of sticking needles under the skin, grinding away their pus-filled, mildly frost-bitten extremities with sandpaper, picking at the swollen parts around the fingernails and toenails with nail clippers, etc. Start introducing acid to them. Now, if they want to warm up their extremities, they must stick them in acid and hope that the acid chosen today will warm them faster than it will cool them. Strip them of clothes and start playing havoc with the temperature of the room, turning it sweltering enough that you may pass out to finding out the floor was cooled with nitrogen.

This torture is admittedly pretty rookie of me, but I'm not depressed enough right now to not be made nauseous by writing more creative ones.
