Right now, due to recent events, I feel terrible. Due to the rules, I’m not going to mention what exactly, but it should be obvious. Besides, I’m more interested in theorizing why it happened, and how to move forward than talk about if I feel it was right or wrong.
First, it reminded me that how I feel is not how everybody feels, this is obvious, but it’s something to keep in mind. Other get their information from different places, and have values they find more important. I’m not the most well versed in the economy, but the rhetoric (which may or may not be true) that I’ve heard is that it has gotten worse. That could be related to Covid, but I’m not going to speculate on that further right now. I don’t think the war was a major factor, neither were going to change things too much. I refuse the speculate on the boarder factor on this site, I feel like it’s a step into discourse that isn’t the point of this post.
Moving forward I will try and remember that this is temporary, it will feel like a long time, but it will end. That if this hurts me so much, I should use it as a reason for advocacy. This thing does matter to my daily life, but it doesn’t matter enough to ruin every aspect of it. It will suck, it will pass, like 2020. 2020 was my hell, it is for sure one of my most defining times. But that damn fucking shitty fucky year passed. This period will pass. There will be sometimes that I’ve had enough, and will try and hide from the news. There will be others where I force myself to learn. I’m getting a job today, and I won’t let this ruin that. At least after this cycle, they won’t come back. I have no idea where I’ll be in four years, but I believe I will have improved at least a little bit, no matter what happens in that time.
I wish good luck, peace, and the best for y’all.
