I hope you are able to get a deeper perspective for this. Just thinking of it as livestock meat, as we do, in a culture where they eat those that came before them seems very erroneous. There should likely be respect or ritual-like traditions, funeral culture on earth is interesting itself. So if you do have a chance to develop something like this, it'd be great world building to see. Especially since you can bring up afterlife and religion (both of which are relevant in an isekai)

Even so, looks like this choice is losing the poll by a long shot.
I've spoken to a few people since I posted this. Factoring in all responses here and others not on this site, it's pretty even. I might just have to work in all 3... Likely just in different forms.

That said, I simplified it here. I'd include all necessary information to show a genuine learning and acceptance of the ways of the furries.

I find the thought of meet plants far more disturbing than straight up cannibalism, I am not sure why.

lol If I go that route, I'd likely do meat cuts as fruit. The meat dries, opens, and spills seeds to replant. If it's picked, the meat stops ripening, and can then be cooked like any other.

Different varieties of meat plant will produce different flavors, cuts, and textures. So you'd have like, T-bone, rib eye, pork chop, lamb rib, etc etc. Obviously all called by different names, but it'd taste like those meats to the MC and sister.

So, fungus is actually relatively close to meat plants.

Like, animals are more related to fungus than to plants. So, while we think of mushrooms as a form of plant, they really aren't. They're their own thing and sort of what animals branched off of.

In your world, it could be even closer. So, meat just sort of grows out of the ground in lumps, in the dark. If the ground is damp enough and has enough rot going on in it. Like, deep in the forest, or in cultivated plots in caves.

And it's not exactly like animal meat. It has most of the right nutrients, with maybe a few differences. And the texture isn't like muscle at all. It's more like brain and bone marrow (oh, heck, some of the outer shells might be very similar to bone, if these meat plants need protection from predation, or something like wood for growing taller).

Maybe the world is a vegetarian world and the carnivore furries/predator monsters are the combat focus roles instead of actual carnivores and its a war over land.

That's actually where I got the idea. I was thinking on taking it one step further. Like, technically, it'd be a form of fungus that developed seeds rather than spores. But, when cooked, would have the texture of a fungus with the taste and nutrients of actual meat, if perhaps slightly different to digest or didn't fill you quite as long as genuine meat.

That was another idea, but I couldn't reasonably justify it to myself why predators, still having similar dietary needs (quick energy, fast response, dense calories, etc) could survive on plants. IRL predators eat meat because, in general (if technically slightly wrong) terms, the calories and nutrients have already been digested, making them faster access.
