On a scale of 1 to 10, how much badly does the word "Shatterborn" make you roll your eyes?
There's a new idea that's been knocking around my head for the past few days. Long story short, there are monsters in another dimension. If one of those monsters grows strong enough, it can break through the barrier between our world and theirs. This is called a Shattering, which creates a rift between the two worlds. Normally, the wave of otherworldly energy that a Shattering causes vaporizes anyone nearby, but in rare occasions that energy will fuse with someone instead, giving them special powers.
I was going to call these people Riftborn, but there's already a series with that name so probably best to move away from that. My next idea was "Shatterborn," but...I dunno, that one sounds kind of stupid. What do you think? Thumbs up or thumbs down on Shatterborn?
