How do you ACTUALLY get to the trending list?

A few questions -
What's the secret behind getting into the list?
What's the best time to post to gain the most views?
Can a book without the trans/bl/gl stuff become big on this platform?
I am doing better on RR even though according to me the competition there is much fierce.
Here's my novel, what am I doing wrong?

GL is one of the most popular genres on SH and there's a large enough LGBT following here that trans stories do quite well.

From my own experiences of both Amelia Thornheart hitting tending a few times and looking at other novels hitting it, I suspect the trending list takes into account at least:

Is the novel relatively new? Trending seems to have a slight bias towards younger novels, allowing new authors to be discovered easier.
The number of views, favourites, ratings and likes given in a certain period.
There is certainly a weighted bias against the same novel staying on tending for more than one day in a row, although it happens rarely.
You can see the times that my series hit trending by the peaks here.

I also suspect it can take into account novels that have been relatively quiet but suddenly get an influx of new viewers (because of a new chapter being posted). I see that sometimes playing out.

Post consistently. Server resets at 7:00 CDT, so either post then or at the end of the 24hr cycle. Posting in the middle will net the least amount of daily views. There is no definite way to get on trending, but view spikes in proportion to your average views do play a big role.

I can't pinpoint reasons why you do better on RR. If I had to make a guess, you focus on stuff RR likes, power system, weak to OP, and so on. I can mention what you did wrong here, on SH, with more confidence. You fucked up the beginning by bulk uploading. Can't fix it. Cover is so-so.

Without reading I can only say keep uploading.

Your Synopsis is waaaay too long. Too many informations no one asked for... If i saw yours, i wouldnt even start reading. Maybe start there, before everthing else.

Like @SailusGebel said, you made a mistake by uploading all your chapters in this short period, reducing the number of views/readers you could have gotten from them if they were spread.

For the trending, like others said, we just guess since it's unknown, but from stat, it implies the number of readers/views/favorites/likes/comments gained in a short period. An old story can suddenly release a chapter, and all the followers coming back to read it and comment on it can make it get in the trending list the next day.

Ps: I made the same mistake as you, uploading a whole bunch of chapters right from the start, and my story reaches trending when it hits the 80th-something chapter.

Tony nerfed sexy meta. Anyway, even if you use sexy girl, if that's the only thing you have going on it won't work. You have to add something else. Title would be nice.

2. Attach virus to a story with both BL, GL and Smut tags (bonus points if it has GB and all three).
3. Whenever you upload a new chapter, it triggers the virus on every computer that viewed the BL/GL/Smut story, making it "read" your new chapter. Millions of views instantly!

Also probably get the FBI or Interpol or someone knocking on your door after a few runs but still TRENDING BABY!
