You own a business. You had interviewed 2 separate candidates.

One is a pathological liar. The other is naive and has little social experience but is very honest.

Most of the time, which one would you hire as your employee?

Honest person. Integrity is a valued responsibility.

Here's an example. I'll be honest. This thread is dumb. For one, we're given an unequal amount of traits. Does the dishonest person have a redeeming quality that offsets the negatives of naive or limited social experience?

You can teach the newbie to lie, but you can't teach the liar to be honest.

They are mostly a liar when it came to social chatting and occasionally lied about professional relationship and affair.

Why would I ever hire a liar to do anything?

If all other factors are equal, it depends on the job - if it is a sales or PR position, the liar might actually be the better choice, while if it is a technical position, the honest person would almost always be. While both would probably be equally bad choices for a lawyer type position.

I agree with this fella.

Locations, surroundings, there are more things to think about when it comes to profession.

and when he gets me sued? The risk outweights the gain, better to hire the naive man and teach him
There is a difference between a liar and a criminal. A good liar can sell without breaking the law. Here are two basic, mundane examples:

This (insert object) is for you, it fits you so well!

I’m not trying to change your mind, but it will be better for you to buy this one than the one you have chosen.

To answer the question of this thread, it depends mainly on your activity and moral code.
