I blame Haikyuu! for my weird title.

Bleach's Shukuro Tsukishima has the Book of the End, which allows him to insert presence into his victim's past, turning them into his greatest allies.

Just saw a work with MC going into special dungeons that are actually powerful players' pasts and playing as the in-set character. Once he flawlessly plays his role, he become fast friends with the still-alive players even though technically those powerful players never even knew of his existence previously.

The concept is not new and I always hated it.

So why I now decided to ask for recommendations is beyond me, but please help if can.

All I can think of is regression stories where the MC becomes friends with those he normally wouldn’t. “My Daughter Is The Final Boss” has only one close but not quite example of what you said, where he inserts himself into a witch’s past and ends up making the present version of that witch his ally. Though this was later revealed as canon so it probably doesn’t fit your want.

I've actually seen three chinese webnovels where the dude sealed up or whatever can't affect reality atm and has that cheat that allows rewrite his story (not history) and then watch as the female leads who were then watching whatever big screen with past and whatever doubt themselves into oblivion and into friendship/harem member region they go. They were trash and somewhere in NU still being translated

Yup, I saw those too in raw.

I hated my life as I chewed on them.

Sounds like an interesting concept, but one VERY easy to do poorly or to overuse. Have never encountered it myself though.
