I have a decent backlog I'm putting in the "scheduled" tab for my story, and I was just curious if the wordcount for a story on your "create" tab shows the total wordcount INCLUDING unreleased sheduled chapters, or if it EXCLUDING those?

Nope. It doesn't include unreleased chaps.

Take a look at mine. I got an entire 300k+ and 200k+ unreleased set of volumes, and my total stands at just 500k+.

You can use the site https://wordcounter.net/ for that, but you have to copy paste everything in it.

Microsoft word also counts the words for you. And if you want to know how many words a chapter has, you just have to mark it.
