I like teacher x teacher, vampires x everyone, maid x mistress. Tropes I hate is teacher x student, any relationship with slaves(they can be good, but most of them it's just toxic bdsm smut) and forced relationships

What trope you also have in your novel(if you have of course)

I'm a simple living being.

I choose to be the middleman.

If just by actions, gazes, pats, and short dialogues can make someone love others, then I'm down for it.

teacher x teacher goes hard, way too underrated

Agree.

Now that you said it, I wonder what would happen if Hans fell in love with another homeroom teacher.

I don‘t hate harem stories, but I have two big problems with a lot of them.

First I don’t like stories where girls/guys fall on the mc just for showing a societally adequate level of kindness. Like the mc will hold the door for a girl and she’ll fall head over heels and dedicate her entire life to him

Second I hate harem stories that have no restraint. Ones that never stop adding new characters fall in love with the mc, until every character of the opposite sex in nearest three area codes, and even background characters that had four speaking roles in the last 200 chapters are falling for the mc, before the story gets axed with no conclusion.

Yes this is me ranting about tu love ru

I mostly read Wuxia/Xianxia/Xuanhuan, so, for me it's when the two are somehow equal and do anything for the other (Tang Wulin and Gu Yuena), even if the other don't see it at first or even feel betrayed (Yes, I'm talking about Xia Qingyue!).

Frequent progress in the budding relationship that doesn't get ignored or forgotten about.

I dislike it when the establishment of a relationship is the end goal of a piece of work. There's plenty more room to explore after the relationship starts! Let the relationship start early and let them grow into a power couple :blob_cookie:

I generally prefer OTP instead of harems.
Is this for or against Milfs? I personally don't like the trope.

I can certainly agree to that.

What do you guys think of a dying person x any other person. Where it's inevitable is a tragedy. When i read and saw this trope once it felt just sad, but after a few days of processing it i realized that it was one of the best stories i read.

Student x Student
Master x disciple

I also like the trope. But in most cases, the Love Intrest gains weird powerups or the powerscale quickly shifts.
Oh, and if we are talking about xianxia the classical "Oh no i got poisoned by this aphrodisiac, if i don't have sex fast i die" trope is absolute bullshit.

Hate harems, but enjoy poly

I hate this kind of romance. 98% it's build up. I don't want it to be fast, but story don't should end when they actually started dating

I like the unexpected lovers trope, I can't remember the story but two forced in an arranged marriage bith with their own issues and battles support and eventually end up falling for one another. Don't know if there's a word for it.
Of course for. Milfs are love, milfs are life.
So long as she's not blood related she is safe to be dated.

Don't like most harems. Other than that, hard to say. Most tropes can be done really well, or atrociously badly. I found I statistically don't like most age gap relationships, but I have nothing against them.

I really like when there are large differences between the two, be it physical, mental, or social. Age can be slippery though.

I don't think I have a trope in my story (or at least I didn't write it with the intention to have one), though worth noting almost all relationships I write are between starkly different characters.

I absolutely hate, with the white hot heat of a thousand suns, any of the 'romance' stories where one party has power over the other so they can't say no, but eventually that person comes to love them as well. That's not romance, that's Stockholm syndrome.

Just give me a healthy, cute relationship where they have a reason to like each other.

Yeah. Hard pass. I've already had seven funerals in the past four years for close family members(none covid related) and had to watch that grief up close. I don't need that in my fiction, especially if I'm reading to relax.
