I just dislike seeing all those squished images
No; if they can’t read the recommendation above the cover upload button, they deserve the squish.

:blobsip: I did that on purpose for one of my stories just to see if the readers would care...
The answer was disappointing.

I'd disagree, but seeing how unpopular my opinion seems to be, I'm not going to argue for a lost cause.

Rest assured knowing that you have now mildly annoyed at least one person -_-

I have a deep hatred for if an author presents a female character on the cover to attract views for their male protagonist story.
Deep hatred.

Not everyone is good with computers. Not many people know what Photoshop is, let alone the aspect ratio of an image. Some have sight issues and just can't do it. However, all these individuals share a common desire to express themselves through writing. All they have is an image, most likely some random one, and they expect it to work. It's up to the website to figure out how to make it work.

We have unnecessary barriers and can't even recognize them as such. A simple cropping window on upload solves the issue. Even Webnovel has it, and we don't. Come on. :blob_sir:

1 google search.

If you took the hassle to find the site, register an account, write your story, and go as far to share it, you can make the effort to read the fine print while going through the publishing process and do a little extra work.

I hate this attitude that users need everything served on a silver platter for various arbitrary reasons.

I know I am sounding like a dick now, but the pampering everyone expects nowadays is making me irritated. Some barriers are good to have; it tells me what to expect from people.
