So I started working on a mini story project last night. Mostly, just wrote down the synopsis and the characters I'm using. Tonight I plan to at least outline what my prologue or first chapter will be and I'm thinking of doing a sort of parody (as I like referential humor).

And seeing some, if not most of us here are weebs anyway, I thought I'd ask for some writing materials.

As the title says, I'd like to ask what are some specific scenes, tropes or cliches that you like seeing in your romantic comedy titles? Feel free to drop a clip of such scene here so I can get a picture of it. Thanks in advance!

A group of characters or a single one totally "unsuspiciously" following another character. Can be the girls terribly stalking the male lead, ML getting dragged into stalking FL, vice versa, or just the friends stalking ML&FL on a date or business. Those scenes are fun to watch and also flexible enough for a trope or cliche that it doesn't really feel like one.

The classical "I'm late, I'm late"-girl with bread in her mouth (typically tsundere) rushing into the male lead after a corner.

That one pervy friend side character slipping up. Can be the obvious male friend that acts like a total pervert screwing up his act or the silent girl that's actually the biggest pervert of them all slipping up one time too many.

There are a lot of tropes I love, but there are two I absolutely hate: misunderstandings that don't immediately(or very very quickly) get cleared up and confessions being masked by a loud noise/interrupted and than the person chickening out(except if it was intentionally done by another character in a love triangle)

Also gotta love the shy giant guy and bossy pipsqueak girl

I'm writing a romcom parody as well. Here's some of the tropes I've referenced.

Toast of Tardiness
Crash-Into Hello
Accidental Pervert
Nosebleed = Sexual Attraction
Childhood Marriage Promise
Clueless Chick-magnet
Physical abuse is funny if it's female on male
Kabedon
Bento Box Confession

Aye thanks for the responses so far. Some of these I already know, surprisingly, but slipped past my mind so they were great reminders. Keep em coming~

I'll make good use of them. :blob_okay:

Having a proper conversations about their love for each other, underneath the night sky.
Misunderstanding that ended up getting resolved through gazillion of chapters.
Not some misunderstanding that will cause someone to uncover that their love one is cheating with their best friend, ending up in breakup, then that person ending up to a girl who's their another bestfriend, which turns out has an unresolved issue but she is too hot and I'm too broken hearted to think, yeah this might not be a good idea..
Hearing all that from a friend while I sit jobless.
