How to i write my author note

I have written a chapter and thinking of adding a author note but i don't know how do i use it, i also don't know what should i write in author note but want to know so i can write it in future

Use this button.

It will spawn two texts in boxes, like this:
[author][/author]

Insert your notes in between those boxes. Like this:
[author]Hey all! Thanks for reading! Cya'll next chapter![/author]

If you're not sure how it'll look. Press "Save Draft" and then press "Preview Chapter".

As for what you should write in an Author's note, you should use it if you need to address your readers directly. For example: Announce your gratitude to them for always reading. Let them know you're about to take a break. Inform them of a change in schedule or other such news. Of course, you could also use it to make jokes. Write whatever you want there.

Do author's notes add to the word count? So far I've just put a horizontal line at the end and started talking, but I don't like pumping the word count unnecessarily.

Any words in the editor are counted, so yes, it's counted.
