In the world of fiction (and sadly non-fiction), he who has the bigger stick speaks.Firstly, power rotation through democratic votings is a joke. But I meant the characters in the story... If you didn't like them so much, how would you change them and their actions? And how would you add "power rotations through democratic voting"
Like, frankly, if I wrote the story I'd be like "tf is this president doing? He should side with the actual power holders" and change the bit of him and the govt to immediately banning martial arts. That's the most I'd change in what you described.
If you tell me to appeal to their compassion, they have none.
Which is why only MC can stop them, by beating them to a bloody pulp or straight murder.
As of your idea of "banning martial arts immeidately", it does sound like a possible route like how ancient China did it and very odd of you to pick that side.
Because the story revolves around MC breaking free from these power holders using martial arts and you are playing as the opposition then.
Or are you trying to prevent MC's existence in the first place? ?
