Title says it all. I find it weird that I should have almost 600 views, but only 70 of those actually looked at my book? Isn't that weird ? Or am I missing something? Maybe my book just sucks ?
To clarify, I have 79 views in total for the book, so only 6 per chapter and apparently 9 readers which never made it past chapter 1??? Lol

Yeah, you're interpreting it correctly. If someone clicks on your book it counts as a view even if they don't read a chapter. To your last point, some people will mark a story as reading (which will put them at chapter one)but will wait until it has more chapters before actually reading it

The number of views per chapter can vary massively depending on a lot of factors, for example rereading or skipping chapters, and is extremely unreliable. You should only use them as a rough reference, and even then take them with a grain of salt.

The number of views of the story, if I'm not mistaken, takes the views from all chapters and adds views of the story page. If you published your story only recently, the latter is going to make the majority because a lot of people will see your story on the front page and check it out, but won't actually read it.

Apparently clicking on the novel title to read the summary and the reviews is also counted as a view. If I remember correctly from other similar posts.
Thanks !

Refreshing the front page of your story also counts as a view, with a short cool down iirc. So if you obsess over your views you'll actually give yourself fake views
Holy crap, refresh at least twice per day, so that's several dozen views there :D Thank you !

If you want to check your views, do so from the create page. Views don't refresh instantly on this site either so keep that in mind.

This is nit a new question. See other threads before asking, kay? Not to be a dick, just saying that it'd give you a faster answer

Those nine readers who didn't read past the first chapter either thought it was shit or not to their taste. Views count as everyone who clicked on the page (I mistakenly click on probably a dozen things a day without meaning to) so it doesn’t mean much.
