Overall I'm okay. I'm not feeling down, nor am I in depression. I will say it's the opposite actually, I'm in a good mood recently. I feel somewhat melancholic only when I open SHF.

But I think most of the new member get into the forum just to get feedback on their stories,and the response is also not so good,maybe that's why they just 'meh this community is not comfortable for me'
Actually the solution was simple,we just need to encourage them to keep writing,and give a few advice to make they wrote better.

Well, for most of the time old peeps have been busy with real life stuff, like me, so we can't be lurking here always. Some who give time and effort got 'burned' as well, coz some would take a mile once you give them an inch.

Also forum have lots of members, just that they are quiet. Prolly intimidated by the interactions they read, or discouraged by the 'welcome', or both. So numbers-wise, there's no issue. The problem is the 'quality of community interactions and experiences'.

Any case, aside from real life stuff, I've also minimized my time interacting with peeps here, since a lot of noisy new peeps (got no probs with talkative people, just to be clear) turned out to be annoying edgelords, or walking psycho landmines.

Gotta prioritize our well-being over community, after all.

SHF has been looking smaller than ever for the past month or so. Even before the most recent drama, peeps I like were leaving one by one. A couple are simply busy with their work, but a lot are distancing from the forums for multiple reasons. And there are barely any new cool people joining us nowadays. This forum won't die(probably), it's not the end, but I'll tell you something. I feel lonely whenever I open SHF lately.

I don't get the internet persona thing on SHF. It's odd.

It's escapism, and, well, this is a safe space for some of us to be a little...loose. It's ain't me thing either, outside of a few RP threads, but, eh, to each their own.

It is quite melancholy, I agree. It is like looking at your group of friends that slowly drifted away, because everyone is on their own path, their own future, their own success, their own troubles to worry about now. I'm happy for those folks, tho.

There are a lot of new people, but the issue is.. none of them are being welcomed lol. Their writings aren't even being looked at, and SH basically only support smut stories (those things get popular quickly). You gotta greet everyone, or else there's just going to be dead accounts everywhere.

I was a new member once. People are just as welcoming now as they were back then. The thing is, you can't expect others to act towards you after seeing you post 10-50-100 messages like they act with those who they have already exchanged 500 with.

People here have seen others come and go, exactly what this thread mentions. To know someone better you need to get them know you and you learn about them. That takes time.

If you keep interacting with with people here, everyone will slowly learn what type of people you are and vice versa.

Nobody can expect that just because they hop into a place, everyone will waiting for them on their knees as if they knew a new Royal McDuble has come.

Try to take a step back, and look at it objectively. You are a relatively fresh forum poster. You come in with a claim. It is already a claim that in the past had been put under scrutiny and something that was a known meme even before I joined the forums.

That is why others want to see if you are parroting something you saw being thrown about, or is an established fact that you can prove. It is not disrespectful.

Although, I will be disrespectful now, because after just this one thread my first opinion about you is that you are way more entitled than you realize and for sure I wouldn't put any effort to welcome you here on my part because it is just a waste of time if I know we would never mesh anyway.

Does this mean you should be thrown off the forums? Nah. There are many people here, you can fit in fine and find peeps to interact with and be part of the community.

People here welcome others and will help out but it is the user’s task to be active and become part of the community not ours to lasso and channel new users in. But don't expect even that when your attitude comes in between it.
