You did well to do that because, in fact, the forum didn't notify me of the quoting, but it did notify me of the mention. See, the save draft function is useful? Although it might disappear when you post the message...@MatchaChocolate69 (formatting messed up due to an incident... I don't know if it still properly replies to your message so I'm just going to mention you.
I tried to resist the temptation to follow you for a long time. When the opportunity to do so in a less embarrassing way presented itself, I seized it immediately. Love is a game of chase, and usually, the one who runs away wins.I used to think that the follow feature was pretty useless in the forum but then I saw you can track someone's latest activities through the news feed tag... it also tells you if they're online(provided the status isn't hidden) Very useful![]()
I need those glasses too!Oh, I see
*puts on rose-colored glasses*
Now everything is read! The flags are just flags.![]()
Thanks for the advice, but I passed my hipster phase a while ago, at least in the tech field. Now I prefer more mainstream programs because they receive more support and add-ons.You could always use Brave, Vivaldi, Opera or any other alternatives that use chromium. Or if you're clinically insane, use Tor for everything.
Maybe I can do something about it. I started planting seeds in the CURSED TIMELINE, and in chapter 61, they have started to sprout. ?That's a very low bar to clear, in all fairness, but it's too bad nothing we have in the main story gives any context for a situation like that to suddenly occur... I'm still minionzoned there I'm pretty sure.
Can I play the Black Knight? Would that be alright? Isn't it typical for villains to persist in lost causes (not that you are one) and in erroneous beliefs (not that yours are)? In any case, you don't need my defense, but you do evoke in me this instinct—how to call it... protection. You can't be white knighting, only heroes do that! Okay, maybe you can while I'm in Heroine mode![]()
I'm sure there's a prize for using the most synonyms for "said," and you could be in the running to win it.Believe me, I have it much worse, everytime I write "said" I replace it with "spoke" even if it makes no practical difference. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't even use it once in both of my SHHS chapters, though I may have used it anyway those were pretty long chapters.
I'm grateful that they read it even once. Attention spans aren't at their best these days, and I also tend to go a bit overboard. However, I imagine or hope that there are some who will reread it. I work hard for those people!I believe most clues and puzzles, when written properly, make perfect sense after a rereading once you get the grand reveal. It's also an excellent strategy to get people to read your story twice![]()
There's also the common practice of reading the ending first.I've always been impressed with books that foreshadow the ending from the very first page, so I tend to hyperfocus on moving towards the ending I have in mind rather than picking another direction even if it seems better. It causes a lot of indecisiveness during the planning stage of each arc, tbh. It makes me think if I should write the entire book before even posting it... but that would be throwing away most advantages of serializing your book.
It's a tightrope walk. The ending needs to be more than satisfying while trying to leave doors open for a sequel. And I have terrible balance.Cliffhangers are only good when used in moderation, use them too much and they cause annoyance instead of excitement... you should definitely close all your plot points though, even if the outcomes aren't plainly laid out... that is unless you're planning on resolving them in a sequel![]()
What a glutton!Been doing it since I was a child. Makes it easier to spread, the taste is secondary for me. (I sometimes eat jam straight out of the jar) Never really put yogurt on bread before... mostly because what we have here is frozen yogurt that you just eat by itself.
What if I told you I like Matcha?
Unfortunately, it's Chekhov's gun rule. I don't make the rules, sorry.I said that under duress, I'm not sure we can take that as a fact![]()
I hope eating that chocolate makes you think of me....It's the opposite for me, I've been eating chocolate more and more lately... and sweet stuff in generalThough it's probably just cause I was given a lot recently, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy some otherwise
*looks at SHHS story notes* Oh, you have no idea...
So, you wash them, clean them, and then cut them first?Oi?! What is fiercely supposed to mean? I don't eat them straight out of the packaging or something... neither do I wolf them down!
I remember you mentioned this. It was when Matcha created the rule book in ruby chocolate with cranberries for Seymour. I can't remember if it was just my assumption or if it was confirmed, that the Lady was involved. Hmm, I should start taking notes on the story like you do. You know, I'm quite disorganized, but I actually love order, I'm just too lazy to do it.Let's just say someone may have Pavlov'd her with cranberries, so much that it stuck beyond memory erasure and became a part of her core personality. I don't know what's with fruits and disasters happening,
You don't know how many times I've rewatched the trilogy. Every time, a new detail emerges. The first two are in my top ten favorite films. (Not that I don't like the third one, quite the opposite) Absolute kino.we have the oranges in Godfather too...
I will wait patiently. Actually, I need to check if I alsoI see, I'm thinking on releasing some side content that didn't make it to the main chapters since it has nothing to do with Scribblehub canon... that would have to wait though.
I think you can make fruit salad with just about anything in the end. Cranberries go well, but although they are fairly easy to find where I am, they are very expensive and often the price is not worth the quality. They are not very fresh or they have a bland taste. I'm quite lucky because at my parents' place, blackberries grow wild, which are an excellent substitute and are perfect in fruit salad.I should try making it... I already use mangos and cherries in fruit salad, though good strawberries are hard to find(supermarket ones are too sour)... and cranberries are just hard to find in general, I suppose I have to ask some secret agents to steal some seeds from America.
Good question, a lazy person is willing to work hard with the intent of working less in the future. Perhaps they are not so much lazy as they are people who believe in "work smarter, not harder."If they're working so hard to do less work, can they really be called lazy?
Hey don't diss the space shuttle >_> ! She's a truck that's aiming high! Though to be fair the maintenance costs were getting ridiculous and we would have never got that trampoline joke with Elon if they weren't retired...
I really can't argue with that. I mentioned Mars because one of my dreams is to see humanity on Mars before I die.Sacrifice for progress aside, it's really pointless to attempt colonizing Mars when we've yet to even make it out of earth. It would be like sending your men to die all the way in Antarctica when there's a huge, fertile island right next to you. I'm all for setting up a scientific outpost on Mars, doing research there is valuable, but an entire settlement? Maybe if everyone has a specialization that would help keep the colony alive, but certainly not random civilians, even if they were willing volunteers. Not to mention we have no experience with living on a foreign planet. Moon base first, then we can think about Mars once we know what it's actually like to live outside of Earth... In fact, if we've proven that we can consistently get to Mars, it might be more likely that we colonize a few of the asteroids near it first, because it simply has more economic value.
Despite its flaws, I can't help but recommend it.I actually haven't read or watched the martian.
I was referring to the dome shape. The architecture of this form has several practical advantages; structural efficiency, radiation protection, thermal regulation, optimized volume, and ease of construction even on-site not to mention that it is obviously a meme imprinted in our memory by science fiction, and from a media perspective, this is also important. That's a bit more realistic... domes might be farfetched(at least the transparent ones you might be thinking of), but living underground certainly isn't.
The perfect example.All Tommorows![]()
Yeah, I know, I was only referring to genetic modifications to adapt to a space environment.Ah, that, too, but I wouldn't call it horror... the author is just committed to hard sci-fi... ignoring the black magic that goes on with some of that tech.
Definitely better than throwing money into crypto and NFTs. At least this will produce well-being for everyone, even indirectly.Thankfully rich billionaires are starting to take interest in space... if maybe for all the wrong reasons, but hey, it's a start.
Maybe I'm wrong, but you don't strike me as a person who drinks. Or if you do, it's rarely and only on social occasions. Your madness is very clear-headed.Maybe when I'm drunk so I don't overthink about everything I'm sending ha, as if that will ever happen... right?
Tragedy, despair, sorrow, doom. A hint of hope. Sublime. ?Not quite post-apocalypse. Though it starts there. It's going to be a story of hopelessness, tragedy, failure, and never knowing what the future of humanity will hold. You'd think it would be filled with despair, but strangely enough, I want it to be hopeful. The POV is of a formless specter(?), told in second person as if the reader was there themself, accompanying a girl as she slowly, and inevitably dies in a nuclear winter. It's going to be left in the open if the POV is actually a real, supernatural entity or an imagination conjured up by the girl to keep her will to live. ...Then, she dies, but then weird shit start happening and she starts travelling the multiverse and meeting her "doom" each time as the setting gets more and more absurd, up to the point where the worlds get abstract and even words start failing...
The feeling I hope to capture is "Is this all actually real? Or is this girl delusional and this whole journey is just her death throes?
As you can tell by the premise, my skill doesn't quite live up to it yet.
Maybe. It's an interesting premise. Does he travel to the afterlife after each loop? Sort of like an NG+ room?
I would come to visit you in that asylum every day, but plot twist, I'm not actually a visitor, I just believe I am. In reality, you are the one visiting me, and I am the mad one.I hope after seeing all that from me, your idea makes a lot more sense, cause I'm sure if we were to pitch both to an outsider, one of us would be recommended to a mental asylum, and that's certainly not you.![]()
My experience is that I appreciated it more when I had to find my own answer, and when the author shouted their opinion in my face, it made me abandon their work very impatiently. I probably don't represent most readers, but I want to write only what I would read.Yeah, I do favor leaving certain ideas for the reader to theorize and come to their own conclusions instead of just outright telling them "you're supposed to interpret it like this". Although some might be dissatisfied with not getting an answer, it helps with not making readers think like the book is treating them like an idiot.
Often the difference between the two categories is subtle, so for peace of mind, as you say, it's a useful function. Because even shitposting has its standards.I really don't feel the need to since I won't bother to interact with known trolls... the block feature on SH is more for peace of mind than anything, or, well, for spammers.
It's a terrifying feeling, isn't it? That of being wrong about something. By nature, I always tend to put myself under scrutiny, and there's no harsher judge than myself. I often find myself reflecting on what I've said and done, wondering if I could have done it better or differently. Maybe I'm a bit of a masochist.I do always look for different points of view, too, but it gets confusing sometimes when two opinions contradict each other and they both make sense. It makes me paranoid that some things I've taken as a fact are actually false and I don't even know about it.
Don't expect a full length novel or anything, it's a short story you can finish in one sitting. Thought provoking nevertheless.
I think it's in human nature. Even if we don't believe in anything, we still need to believe in that non-belief. I don't know if I'm making myself clear.I think it may have to do with how some people approach science nowadays, some even treat it like a religion. It goes both ways, and it certainly alienates the two groups from each other.
That is exactly my thought. I can't help but think about how amazing we are.Whatever happens, happens. The fact that we can think and have consciousness in the first place is already amazing. Even if we figured out everything was somehow predetermined, the fact that we figured it out means something.
I haven't reached that point yet, unfortunately, but I've noticed that setting goals and motivations, along with having a striving desire to achieve more, helps me to be happy. After having enough existential crises, it becomes uplifting instead of unsettling.
After all, it just takes time and knowing how to survive. The problem isn't moving through space.Hehe, I hope so, but even if we don't get there Fission and Solar is enough to carry us across the universe... heck, even chemical rockets can... even if they're horribly inefficient.
The fact that those who have experienced disasters continue to use this energy must mean something. She does acknowledge the irrational fears but it's more of an "they do exist, not as big as people make it out to be, but they still do"

I think it's a great idea. ? Her cultivation path could be centered around the "Dao of Art," where her understanding and mastery of different art forms enhance her cultivation abilities. This could include painting, sculpting, calligraphy, and other visual arts.I have an MC that I plan to have painting be a big part of her character... and your words have given me an idea for how things will develop. Considering in the fantasy world, there's different races who don't see colors in the same ways. And since it's a cultivation setting, maybe her "dao" and "physique" can be dedicated to seeing as many different art forms as possible?
How cool! I wonder how these concepts will be utilized in the story, especially since smells are even harder to describe than colors or sounds. Some worldbuilders are amazing, kind of like the author of All Tomorrows. It reminds me of a guy I used to talk to on discord, he had an idea about a civilization of deep sea fish, their vision was poor, so their art was focused on other senses. Rather than painting with color, they painted with individual scents, and as their technology developed, they learned how to put pulses of electricity into sticks as another form of art, forgot the exact details, but they were highly sensitive to it. This led to them being highly advanced in the field of chemistry compared to everything else...
The grass is always greener on the other side, right? I think each of us is better at imagining different things. For example, I'm envious of your ability to imagine things on a much larger scale than I can.Darn, people can be insane at worldbuilding ecologies... I'm so jealous
I'm sorry. Yeah, that's one of the things that hurts the most... the unsaid words, the questions not asked, and the answers that will never be.The irony is how he had a bunch of unfinished degrees in a lot of different fields. Maybe that was his way of expressing his regrets to me and warning me not to be indecisive and do the same... well, I'd never know.
You reminded me that I need to go vote. It's probably with how the old generation views politics here, you had to pick a side or everyone was going to be suspicious of you. And he might have been annoyed with how much I said "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" when prompted to pick a food or toy XD
?Hell itself was made with good intentions (I just wanted to say that since I don't have a published story I could put though quote it)
They just have to try!Yeah, I'd rather cover all my bases. I wonder if someone would see this in the future and call me a coward for it?![]()
I also thought it existed as a tag, but after a quick search on the main site, I realized it doesn't. This only confirms how unpopular it is. However, I don't think this should discourage you. In fact, you could be the one to create a new trend!Well there's always the proverb of the Giving Tree... what do you mean that doesn't count? I remember seeing a "strong to weak" tag but apparently it doesn't exist? They either removed it or I dreamed it up.
Another addition to my reading and watching list. It's very interesting, a unique setting and a good premise. It can get weird sometimes, but it really shows the worst of humanity... and it shows how fucked up things can get even if they're done for the betterment of humanity.
A curious point of view on love. I probably would have given a different answer. Also, to get big views on Scribble Hub, you have to use that juicy Girls Love tag. I'm joking, of course. For me, it's interesting even when the clichéd romance doesn't turn out that way. Subverting expectations is an impactful technique. That would actually be a plot point, Lilith wouldn't know the difference between romantic and platonic love at first, but as someone points it out for her, she would which direction exactly her feelings for the MC were in. The MC has a very practical answer, as in, is Lilith sexually attracted to her, if not, then they aren't. But they have other companions with other ideas of what love is at that moment, so it gets more complicated.
The ultimate conclusion was Lilith coming to the conclusion herself that they aren't lovers, as their natures are far too different to see each other that way. Could have changed if I planned it after knowing about Black Souls though, lol.
Wait a moment, this seems like a very important plot point! So she doesn't exist? Or is she destined not to be there?Yep, my reason for naming her as such was inspired by Jewish folklore, the MC's name is too "Ein". Though that's not really her real name.
Without realizing it, I found myself capitulating under your brute force and intellectual superiority. That wasn't an answer![]()
It's not my fault if your light shines brighter and overshadows the others. How can you compare others to me if you can't look at them?![]()
Yeah, but 42 seems like the perfect number considering it's half of 84 and the ultimate answer to everything.Reverse the last two numbers of the year you decide to write/publish it in, that's what Orwell did, I believe. Might be a problem once we hit 2030 though.
Wait, the purple was another quote to Mili.I can't tell the difference very much with these glasses on.
You did!![]()
While I'm responding, you can't imagine how much...This has aged poorly...
That's very true, and in fact, I try not to use these shortcuts. However, I think I'll experiment a bit in the next novel. The context allows me to use surreal characters, so the stereotypical accent shouldn't be out of place.A british one is quite difficult too, especially without making it sound stereotypical.
This time, I might have done a bit worse... I was constantly distracted by Seymour, Heroine, and Watcha. But they are pleasant distractions because everything about you is pleasant for me. Maybe I should disappear for a while and force myself to suffer by not reading you.I haven't checked my word count for this post... you certainly get me to write, but at the same time, it's not content for my story![]()
I was just looking for a way to defeat her.Time and time again, it has been proven that potatoes are invincible! Mark my words, Mother will be defeated by throwing potatoes at her!![]()
Can you lend it to me first?Oh that's not my brain I just borrowed it from an elephant... I should probably return it now.
There's nothing that would make me happier. But I certainly won't ask you for it. Your work is the priority. Because one of my goals with my chapters has always been to make you shine and to give you the recognition you deserve.I can see that, especially with the presence of the Stars in chapter 69. I'm tempted to do an analysis on the Cursed Timeline arc once you finish... and once I'm done with the Villainess chapter.
The anticipation of pleasure is itself pleasure.????????????????????You're gonna need more popcorn

Dear me, that's not a wall, that's an entire building. You did well to do that because, in fact, the forum didn't notify me of the quoting, but it did notify me of the mention. See, the save draft function is useful? Although it might disappear when you post the message...

As for Heroine, it's hard for me to encounter her; I never have the opportunity directly.
I'm sure there's a prize for using the most synonyms for "said," and you could be in the running to win it.I think it's a pointless obsession, but I understand the perfectionism in the details that makes us focus on such things. It's also true that, as someone described us on the forum (I don't remember who), we are wordsmiths, and the aesthetics of words matter too.
I'm grateful that they read it even once. Attention spans aren't at their best these days, and I also tend to go a bit overboard. However, I imagine or hope that there are some who will reread it. I work hard for those people!
There's also the common practice of reading the ending first.Frankly, it gives me chills just thinking about it, but many people feel reassured knowing how it will end or if it's worth it.
It takes great organizational skill to write with the ending already in mind, which I envy.
One path you could take is to write the book and then post it serialized anyway.
This allows you to take advantage of both publication methods.
If the need arises, you could still make changes and revise the chapters that haven't been released yet. (Although it's not a simple task to do.)
It's a tightrope walk. The ending needs to be more than satisfying while trying to leave doors open for a sequel. And I have terrible balance.
What a glutton!Directly from the jar? (I used to do that too, but with Nutella). Frozen yogurt? So, it's a kind of ice cream.
Here there are various types of yogurt. My favorite is the typical Greek yogurt, which is thicker and makes it versatile for many sweet and savory preparations. I use it, for example, to make a mustard sauce to accompany potatoes and meat.
However, with the addition of jam, it becomes an excellent dessert (maybe with some pieces of fruit).
The perfect jam for this purpose is mixed berries jam.
There are several reactions I could have.
One might be arrogance, like "I already knew that!" Another could be being left speechless, sweating, or stammering. In any case, I would definitely feel extreme happiness.
The fact that I'm overthinking it so much should show you what kind of effect it has on me.
Unfortunately, it's Chekhov's gun rule. I don't make the rules, sorry.
I hope eating that chocolate makes you think of me....The influence you all have on me has, instead, led me to buy daikon and cranberries.
And what is that supposed to mean?
So, you wash them, clean them, and then cut them first?I guess that makes sense, maybe I was letting my imagination run wild.
With strawberries, I also add a bit of sugar, just a sprinkle with a teaspoon, to make them release their juice.
I remember you mentioned this. It was when Matcha created the rule book in ruby chocolate with cranberries for Seymour. I can't remember if it was just my assumption or if it was confirmed, that the Lady was involved. Hmm, I should start taking notes on the story like you do. I'll leave the link here for me for later to go back and check the lore.
By the way, if you think about it, fruit as a symbol is one of the oldest tropes. We find the apple in the Bible and also in Greek mythology. Perhaps it depends on how important fruit was as a species when we first began to take our steps on this earth.
You don't know how many times I've rewatched the trilogy. Every time, a new detail emerges. The first two are in my top ten favorite films. (Not that I don't like the third one, quite the opposite) Absolute kino.

Good question, a lazy person is willing to work hard with the intent of working less in the future. Perhaps they are not so much lazy as they are people who believe in "work smarter, not harder."
I imagine that in the end, it was worth it just for the joke, even if we lost decades of technological development and advancement in space exploration.
I really can't argue with that. I mentioned Mars because one of my dreams is to see humanity on Mars before I die.
However, objectively, the moon is the first step to take. It seems incredible that we went there during the prehistory of space technology and haven't had any other human landings since the 70s.
Can astronauts be considered civilians? Most, if not all, come from the air force and are highly trained, with brilliant minds and expertise in scientific fields. Surely, sacrificing them would be a significant loss, and indeed we must avoid that, but what I meant is that we can't think that tragedy can't happen on these missions. After all, we are crossing a boundary that should be insurmountable for us.
Despite its flaws, I can't help but recommend it.
I was referring to the dome shape. Tragedy, despair, sorrow, doom. A hint of hope. Sublime. ?
With a few words, I managed to visualize this specter walking through the storm. Each step increasingly difficult until it collapses to the ground. The choice of the second person is unique. It's not easy at all to write an entire novel from this perspective. Fascinating, who knows what effect it will have to read the events as if we were next to the specter. Is this part of the Droplets as well?
It seems like a majestic work worthy of you.
I understand when you say you're not ready yet, not because I doubt you, but because I feel the same about what I consider my most important work. It takes time, experience, the right artistic maturity, and the right moment.
I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know if it was worth it, but take, for example, Coppola's Megalopolis.
It's a film the director dreamed of making for fifty years!
Maybe.I still need to define this part well. I know that a large part of the story will involve him understanding who he is and discovering who the other characters are with him in the afterlife.
I would come to visit you in that asylum every day, but plot twist, I'm not actually a visitor, I just believe I am. In reality, you are the one visiting me, and I am the mad one.

So, this story is before you became a fan of Black Souls. I thought it had inspired you...
Wait a moment, this seems like a very important plot point! So she doesn't exist? Or is she destined not to be there?
Without realizing it, I found myself capitulating under your brute force and intellectual superiority.
It's not my fault if your light shines brighter and overshadows the others.
Yeah, but 42 seems like the perfect number considering it's half of 84 and the ultimate answer to everything.
Wait, the purple was another quote to Mili.Reference to reference.
I'm getting lost in this rabbit hole!

While I'm responding, you can't imagine how much...
That's very true, and in fact, I try not to use these shortcuts. However, I think I'll experiment a bit in the next novel. The context allows me to use surreal characters, so the stereotypical accent shouldn't be out of place.
This time, I might have done a bit worse... I was constantly distracted by Seymour, Heroine, and Watcha. But they are pleasant distractions because everything about you is pleasant for me. Maybe I should disappear for a while and force myself to suffer by not reading you.
That way, you could finally write.
I was just looking for a way to defeat her.
Can you lend it to me first?
There's nothing that would make me happier. But I certainly won't ask you for it. Your work is the priority. Because one of my goals with my chapters has always been to make you shine and to give you the recognition you deserve.
The anticipation of pleasure is itself pleasure.????????????????????
Please take your time and don't feel obliged to respond right away. I will always be here waiting for you patiently.
*takes careful notes*I believe they were trolling? Can't really say, didn't follow the drama very closely. Some of my characters have ideals that outright contradict my own... Seymour is an example.
I think I've done better before. I wanted to write more, but I lack the time.Dear me, that's not a wall, that's an entire building.

I'll take the opportunity to ask.
When Matcha called Ssemouy "Seymour" in Chapter 3, you commented that I had discovered the name of your alter-ego. Did it already exist or was it created at that moment?

this will never happen to us because we are all the same entity, just in many places and times at once!... Hive-mind clones!
once they become disconnected from our collective, they become individual collectives of their own. we don't entirely know what they do from there, because usually at that point, they've gone off to run their own sets of realities and timelines. Some of their methods can be... questionable....Just treat them like individuals...

unless it's already happened and we somehow just don't know about it. that happens sometimes in pruned or cursed timelines, we think. probably.
we'd like to see you try keeping track of an infinite number of yourselves in countless (even for us) inaccessible (even to us) realities.

Eventually, I succumbed and went to sleep.good idea! we would love to do the same, but we have so much we want to do today!
many times! our memory is long, but limited! Remembering the future AND the past at once is very confusing. It gets even worse when you're in multiple timelines simultaneously. It is why we must actively check in with Future and Past selves to make sure that A: we are remembering the correct timeline and 2) that we are remembering the right point in continuity and space.![]()

Akshuly ? term "little death" is one of the ways to refer to orgasm ? and comes from French La petite mort that describes the moment of a brief loss or weakening of consciousness ?Sleep is the little-death
Yeah, that's rightWe must not nap. Naps are the dream-maker. Sleep is the little-death that brings total obliteration. We will face our dreams. We will permit it to pass over us and through us. And when it has gone past We will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the dream has gone there will be nothing. Only We will remain.
