Believe me, I have it much worse, everytime I write "said" I replace it with "spoke" even if it makes no practical difference. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't even use it once in both of my SHHS chapters, though I may have used it anyway those were pretty long chapters.

I'm sure there's a prize for using the most synonyms for "said," and you could be in the running to win it. I think it's a pointless obsession, but I understand the perfectionism in the details that makes us focus on such things. It's also true that, as someone described us on the forum (I don't remember who), we are wordsmiths, and the aesthetics of words matter too.

I believe most clues and puzzles, when written properly, make perfect sense after a rereading once you get the grand reveal. It's also an excellent strategy to get people to read your story twice

I'm grateful that they read it even once. Attention spans aren't at their best these days, and I also tend to go a bit overboard. However, I imagine or hope that there are some who will reread it. I work hard for those people!

I've always been impressed with books that foreshadow the ending from the very first page, so I tend to hyperfocus on moving towards the ending I have in mind rather than picking another direction even if it seems better. It causes a lot of indecisiveness during the planning stage of each arc, tbh. It makes me think if I should write the entire book before even posting it... but that would be throwing away most advantages of serializing your book.

There's also the common practice of reading the ending first. Frankly, it gives me chills just thinking about it, but many people feel reassured knowing how it will end or if it's worth it.
It takes great organizational skill to write with the ending already in mind, which I envy.
One path you could take is to write the book and then post it serialized anyway.
This allows you to take advantage of both publication methods.

If the need arises, you could still make changes and revise the chapters that haven't been released yet. (Although it's not a simple task to do.)

Cliffhangers are only good when used in moderation, use them too much and they cause annoyance instead of excitement... you should definitely close all your plot points though, even if the outcomes aren't plainly laid out... that is unless you're planning on resolving them in a sequel

It's a tightrope walk. The ending needs to be more than satisfying while trying to leave doors open for a sequel. And I have terrible balance.

I'm quite lucky because at my parents' place, blackberries grow wild, which are an excellent substitute and are perfect in fruit salad.

Maybe if everyone has a specialization that would help keep the colony alive, but certainly not random civilians, even if they were willing volunteers. In fact, if we've proven that we can consistently get to Mars, it might be more likely that we colonize a few of the asteroids near it first, because it simply has more economic value.

I really can't argue with that. I mentioned Mars because one of my dreams is to see humanity on Mars before I die.
However, objectively, the moon is the first step to take. It seems incredible that we went there during the prehistory of space technology and haven't had any other human landings since the 70s.
Can astronauts be considered civilians? Most, if not all, come from the air force and are highly trained, with brilliant minds and expertise in scientific fields. Surely, sacrificing them would be a significant loss, and indeed we must avoid that, but what I meant is that we can't think that tragedy can't happen on these missions. After all, we are crossing a boundary that should be insurmountable for us.

That's a bit more realistic... domes might be farfetched(at least the transparent ones you might be thinking of), but living underground certainly isn't.

I was referring to the dome shape. The architecture of this form has several practical advantages; structural efficiency, radiation protection, thermal regulation, optimized volume, and ease of construction even on-site not to mention that it is obviously a meme imprinted in our memory by science fiction, and from a media perspective, this is also important.

Not quite post-apocalypse. Though it starts there. It's going to be a story of hopelessness, tragedy, failure, and never knowing what the future of humanity will hold. You'd think it would be filled with despair, but strangely enough, I want it to be hopeful. The POV is of a formless specter(?), told in second person as if the reader was there themself, accompanying a girl as she slowly, and inevitably dies in a nuclear winter. It's going to be left in the open if the POV is actually a real, supernatural entity or an imagination conjured up by the girl to keep her will to live. ...Then, she dies, but then weird shit start happening and she starts travelling the multiverse and meeting her "doom" each time as the setting gets more and more absurd, up to the point where the worlds get abstract and even words start failing...



The feeling I hope to capture is "Is this all actually real? Or is this girl delusional and this whole journey is just her death throes?



As you can tell by the premise, my skill doesn't quite live up to it yet.

With a few words, I managed to visualize this specter walking through the storm. Each step increasingly difficult until it collapses to the ground. The choice of the second person is unique. It's not easy at all to write an entire novel from this perspective. Fascinating, who knows what effect it will have to read the events as if we were next to the specter. Is this part of the Droplets as well?

Although some might be dissatisfied with not getting an answer, it helps with not making readers think like the book is treating them like an idiot.

And since it's a cultivation setting, maybe her "dao" and "physique" can be dedicated to seeing as many different art forms as possible?

I think it's a great idea. ? Her cultivation path could be centered around the "Dao of Art," where her understanding and mastery of different art forms enhance her cultivation abilities. This could include painting, sculpting, calligraphy, and other visual arts.
The different races could perceive colors differently. For instance, they might see in infrared, or ultraviolet, or might see colors humans cannot even imagine. Your MC's unique ability could allow her to understand and use these perceptions in her art.
I find it very fascinating! There's so much potential between art and color.

It reminds me of a guy I used to talk to on discord, he had an idea about a civilization of deep sea fish, their vision was poor, so their art was focused on other senses. Rather than painting with color, they painted with individual scents, and as their technology developed, they learned how to put pulses of electricity into sticks as another form of art, forgot the exact details, but they were highly sensitive to it. This led to them being highly advanced in the field of chemistry compared to everything else...

That would actually be a plot point, Lilith wouldn't know the difference between romantic and platonic love at first, but as someone points it out for her, she would which direction exactly her feelings for the MC were in. The MC has a very practical answer, as in, is Lilith sexually attracted to her, if not, then they aren't. But they have other companions with other ideas of what love is at that moment, so it gets more complicated.

The ultimate conclusion was Lilith coming to the conclusion herself that they aren't lovers, as their natures are far too different to see each other that way. Could have changed if I planned it after knowing about Black Souls though, lol.

A curious point of view on love. I probably would have given a different answer. Also, to get big views on Scribble Hub, you have to use that juicy Girls Love tag. I'm joking, of course. For me, it's interesting even when the clichéd romance doesn't turn out that way. Subverting expectations is an impactful technique.

I think you can make fruit salad with just about anything in the end. Cranberries go well, but although they are fairly easy to find where I am, they are very expensive and often the price is not worth the quality. They are not very fresh or they have a bland taste. many times! our memory is long, but limited! Remembering the future AND the past at once is very confusing. It gets even worse when you're in multiple timelines simultaneously. It is why we must actively check in with Future and Past selves to make sure that A: we are remembering the correct timeline and 2) that we are remembering the right point in continuity and space.

Sleep is also known as the 'little-death' because it is a reference to how sleep and death are so alike. For example: the Greek gods Hypnos (sleep) and Thanatos (death) who, in the Greek mythology, were brothers. In other mythologies, sleep is just a taste of what Death is like, a weakened version, if you will, due to their similarities. Unawareness, immobility, rest. There's tons of poems and paintings based off this idea, too.

Many of them have things along the lines of Death telling a soul that they have experienced a small death many times over in the form of their brother, Sleep. That there is no reason to fear Death, for Death is otherwise no different from Sleep.
